Okay, here is my problem with Opera: The people working there are just inconsiderate. It has been multiple times that I have waited in like for 30 minutes to get in free (as they hold up the line to make it seem like the night is great), get to the front LITERALLY 3 minutes after the guest list... The bouncer (Mike I think?) said verbatim: "My watch says 10:33, guest list closed at 10:30. It'll be 20 bucks each." Keep in mind we got in line at 10PM... This has happened multiple times to me, and it has happened to other people I know. What do we do when this happens? We get out of line and go somewhere else. We (5 people) are not paying 20 dollars to get in. What Opera doesn't realize is that they would have earned more money from us letting us in free (as we would buy drinks inside) But the absolute worst part about Opera is that they actually get the DJs you want to see... and you will find yourself saying I hate Opera but actually going back just to see the DJ and then having a terrible experience... KEEP IN MIND THE SAME PEOPLE WHO RUN OPERA (LIQUIFIED) RAN THE 2009 TIESTO CONCERT WHICH WAS A DISASTER IN ORGANIZATION (just google it, they charged 2x the amount of parking they advertised and made the line huge and tried to make more money by offering people line cut passes... then the cops came because a riot broke out outside the center) Anyway, if you live in Atlanta you will end up going here at least once. The club itself is posh and beautiful... As I said they have great DJs. Don't get me started on the drink prices.

This is my favorite place to see shows in San Francisco because the band is right in your face the whole time. It reminds me of shows in college in someone's living room. My least favorite place to see shows is the Fillmore. What's with the 10 foot stage and bouncers? Maybe if you're Scorpions and you're in Moscow and it's 1986, but The Shins? I saw Matt and Kim at Du Nord last week and it made me feel old.

purely a review of brunch. i had the eggs and chicken apple sausage. sausage was superb with hints of sweetness. home fries are seasoned with paprika and onions. i usually need ketchup for my home fires, but none this AM. the mango mimosas are aiiight, nothing to scream about. i'd come back to check it as a nightspot. stars for the decor. bamboo and greenhouse. fireplaces too!
