I wish I could give this place 3.72 stars, because I think that would better articulate how I feel about. First, I really loved the ambiance. I took my boyfriend there for his birthday and it was exactly the atmosphere I was looking for; quiet but alive, subtle and sparkly. The other reason I took him here was their special menu that they are running until the 17th of October (2009), "Sirens of the Sea." This chef-driven menu was created to remind us of the seductive nature of succulent sea food- however, I'm not so sure it delivers. My boyfriend and I decided to go for small plates so that we could have a taste of the many different options. Aside from the fried goat cheese balls (and yes, those are a must-have), the next day, I had trouble recalling what else we ate. The flat bread pizza was a little heavy on the cheese, the wood-fire grilled shellfish tasted like any ordinary seafood platter swimming in a stewed tomato sauce, and what else did we get.... See what I mean? I remember meals I had YEARS ago, and I can't remember what else I ordered from Ecco on Saturday night. I think that says something in itself. One thing I do remember was the Halibut Crudo, which we ended our meal with- now THAT was some damn fine eats- catch it before the 17th though, because it was on the Sirens menu. I suppose it is also important to note that because of their special seafood menu, the waiter informed us that there regular menu was chopped in half. So we may have missed out on some really great menu items. All in all- I think it's worth a shot. Don't bring your kids- DO bring your drinkin' hats, and make sure you order those ridiculous fried goat cheese balls, about which I will forever have dreams/nightmares.

My husband and I tried this place last week. We only had soup and salads, but we were very happy. They have some excellent salad choices and options to add meat, chicken, etc to every salad. Its on the high end price-wise for Sunnyside, but its also on the high end for decor and menu. We'll definitely return to try other menu options.

Their beer selection is big. We usually go for lunch, so beer is not an option unfortunately. Food is decent; nothing to write home about.
