I LOVE THE ST. REGIS Hotel!! It's one of my favorite places in NYC, probably a toss up with the Four Seasons and Peninsula in NYC as well. HOWEVER!!, the St. Regis takes the cake! The service is really IMPECCABLE here. I took my boyfriend here to unwind before our dinner at Bouley and after a long day of seminars. He's a laid back west coaster and I wasn't sure if he would enjoy himself, but BOY WAS I WRONG!! HE LOVED IT!! The bar is definitely old school charm with masculine lines of decor with leather chairs and dark wood. The servers are as gracious as ever and coming here always reminds me of my days in NYC, where I took all this charm for granted. This bar isn't a throw back to old school, IT REALLY IS ONE OF THE LAST OLD SCHOOL BARS LEFT IN THE CITY!! Absolutely charming, posh, and comfortable. The drinks are stiff and pricey, but I love it!! Can't wait to go back in MAY!!

The "ladies" of Asia SF are HOT and made the girls in our 20+ party green with envy. Definitely go for the experience at least once - but be forewarned: the food is average and the drinks are weak. They also boast a "club" downstairs but get yourself on guestlists elsewhere if you want to party after the show...bartender did say the place is better during summer. Bottom Line: Great show and high energy but expect to pay $$$ for a night at Asia SF

The last time I had Mexican food this bad was when I was in Portland, Oregon. No offense Stumptown, you did so many other cuisines amazingly well. I should have read the rateclubsing on the wall, but my reasoning lead me to believe that this little place once tucked away on the happening So. Congress couldn't be bad. Wrong. I don't know why they relocated but they appropriately ended up on a street notable for bad restaurants. Next time I'm looking for a convenient spot to eat before a downtown rock show, I'm going to Moonshine! Salsa: The cold, chunky, and lots of tomatoes part was good until I tasted what I hope was an accidental overload of cumin. Guacamole: Flavorless Vegetarian Fajitas: plopped on a cold plate next to the black beans and crunchy rice. Limp, mostly zucchini and yellow squash strips. I found myself mourning the absence of the sizzling fajita platter and the smoky smelling hair souvenir of authenticity. And doesn't Spanish rice have peas and carrots in it? I give up.
