Best veggie burgers to ever exist. I go there just for them! The decor is extremely eclectic and the service always helpful. But come in...for the veggie burger. I assure you - you won't be disappointed!

Frozen in time, and immersed amid the high rises of corporate America lies the Phoenix Hotel. The exterior offers little appeal, but step inside and you'll find a retro-throwback atrium that is a mix between Pan's Labrynth and the 60s. I was quite taken back by the positivity felt when stepping inside - it was so feng shui that even the Hongshan would find correlations between humans and the universe. I was totally digging the scene. The staff was very friendly. The girl at the front desk informed us that the majority of their business is acquired through word-of-mouth, and that has allowed the Phoenix to maintain many return customers, as well as keeping a cool client base. I can see why. The room was relatively cheap, and the decor re-aligned my chi; which coming off the past couple months that I've experienced seemed nearly impossible. Our room was nice as well. Bed sheets were very bright. The bathroom had a toilet and a sink. Television worked, and hovered above the bed like a boxier version of C-3PO. We even had a bamboo drum on the dresser outside the bathroom, which I used to provide a beautiful beat as my gf used the potty. We were definitely jammin'.

I would take the public transit 2 hour long ride to get to this place. Yeah, I said it. I am damn hard to please, but this place certainly deserved the 5 stars. Their sangria is damn tasty, food is outstanding, and their service is wonderful. That, and stepping into that place makes you feel like you walked into Spain. My first venture into this wonderful establishment was all thanks to my friend Chris, who wanted to celebrate. Just a stone's throw from the Dykman 200 St. train station on the A line, the place wasn't crowded when we first got there. The garlic shrimp appetizer was insanely good. My friend and I ended up sopping the rest of the sauce with bread. The seafood empanada was also very good, well stuffed and wonderfully seasoned. My main course was the mamajuana paella, outside of the fact it was beautifully arranged, was absolutely marvelous! They did not skimp in any of the seafood, and the broth in which they cooked the entire dish was absolutely perfect. The desert was certainly interesting, a banana tres leches. Second I hear "tres leches", I go straight for that. Granted, it wasn't as sopping as I like my tres leches to be, however, it was certainly a wonderully fragrant and delicious finish to an outstanding meal. And the service was outstanding. They take great care of their customers, and it has ensured that I will certainly return. Granted, for a full three course meal plus alcohol, you'll be expected to drop at least $100, but for a once in a while venture, this is certainly a spot you must come to, even if it is all the way up in Inwood.
