Playhouse gives those well past the age of 21 with real jobs to go to the next morning a worthwhile reason to go out on a Thursday night! Came here with two girlfriends, one of which has a friend who works here, privileging us with a "skip the line free pass" that got us inside in a jiff. I can't be of much help about what time to show up or if it's a hassle to get in if you don't know someone who works here, but my assumption is to arrive early! Thursday is hip hop night; the rest of the nights I believe are strictly house. The big circular bar is the central focus of the main area and a spillover bar is just to the right of the club when you enter and another one on the dance floor...perfect for quick pit stops so you can get right back to getting your groove on. Either side of this area is dedicated to table service; Jessica is great and the go-to gal for making reservations. She'll keep the "diamonds on your neck and patron in your cup!" Lol, seriously though, she kept the champagne flowing like bubbly waterfalls..how can you not love that?! This place attracts a mixed crowd, mostly late 20ish to early 30's to set the stage for a more sophisticated setting. Pretty nice decor, not overly crowded, a few go-go dancers scattered about (although I didn't see the cirque-esque performers that other reviewers spoke about). Drinks don't come cheap, but the bartenders are nice so that lessens the blow slightly. There is a 2nd level with a separate DJ and yet..another bar! It was closed off for a private party, but with liquid courage we sneaked past the security guy and went up for a bit. Aside from some drunk douche bastard who stole my drink and didn't have the manners to pay for a new one when I called him out on his shenanigans, it was a good night that was well worth the lack of sleep and subsequent caffeine overdose necessary to make me functional at work the following day. So now you know...you don't have to hesitate to come out and play on a weekday!

Didn't know this was a primarily gay bar, but uh I guess I should have known. That would explain all the couples, the grand piano/disco ball/flashy lights and show tunes.. and that bitchy couple complaining about the girls (aka me and my friends j and heather). Fun place, the drinks were good and strong and pretty, and the crowd was otherwise nice (forgetting those 2 douchebags) My friend described it best when he said it was like an outside vegas-vegas bar. Nice ambience and dim lighting, cozy and yet spacious all at once.

Their beer selection is big. We usually go for lunch, so beer is not an option unfortunately. Food is decent; nothing to write home about.
