After searching club after club in the area, we stumbled across Door 44. Cover was $20 p/p drinks were really cheap. Being from the NY area 2 drinks for $12 = cheap! After midnight, Belvidere open bar. Music was bangin! Biz Markie was dj'ing that night. We stayed til about 2am. The parking is difficult in the area but there is a self park parking lot about 2 blocks away. Beware of the drunk dude in the lot trying to bum money off of you!

Algebra was performing here on Sunday night for a concert, so the boyfriend got us tickets to go. We decided to step it up a notch on our going out. He got the tickets on-line for about 8 each. He wanted to get VIP seats, which would have reserved us a table as well, but there was only one VIP ticket available (strange), how does one sit at a table all alone, would they be placed with some other folks, just don't get it. This evening gave me an example of almost everything that I love/ hate about Atlanta. Requirement to valet park your car, or you are walking across a dangerous street. Forced to pay absurd 'entertainment costs' in order to come there when it is obvious based on the name and cause of your business that you planned to feature live entertainment. The prices are absolutely absurd for absolutely no reason. The music was great, but I was a little disappointed that she did not take the stage until about 30 minutes after showtime, but was completely done well before the ending time of the show. I guess that there is a need for such for someone in this city, but its all wasted on me. I'll go to Kat's where you can see nearly the same performers with a much more laid back vibe and less pretentiousness.

We got a good room rate so we decided to try out the Roosevelt. The hotel was a lot smaller than I thought but the room itself was pretty spacious. The bathrooms were tiny though which was somewhat of a drawback. We didn't really spend much time in the hotel and I'm not a huge fan of staying in Hollywood overall but it was convenient.
