Ah yes.... Gold Room All in all I have never really had a bad time here truthfully but, this is a place where it truly costs to play... Because I highly recommend you buy bottle service here because of the lounge layout. The inside decor is pretty cool - all gold - though in some aspects slightly tacky but, it still seems to pull it off. The funniest thing about this club is that you run into the ol'Buckhead clubber groupies that you always see out. Just look for the guys with spiked hair, maybe like a highlight or two... and some really bad attempt to look snazy in a Euro inspired outfit. The female versions? Well just watch out because they prob have on a pretty hot little dress and look, well, hot. Just dont be fooled though - all they want is a free drink or to sit at your table and look cool. I prefer to only wave goodbye as they are pulling out in their Kia Sofia coupe (true story). Service here is pretty good and they have always been pretty cool about hooking up some free champaign or something like that - by no means is this place anywhere near as horrible as Opera. So, come with a group of friends, get the bottle service, dont give free drinks away to the hot girls and finally be prepared cash wise as this is not a location for a cheap night out. Look nice and enjoy... Ill be back one day.

*Whomp* (sound of my hitting the couch after eating here) Oof. A large amount of very good grub. Bacon? Check. Breading? Check. Butter? Check. Waist? Um, need to check that... Some ex-Berkeley folks (and partner) descended. And ate. Rather a splurge, but worth it. Their cocktails looked and smelled delicious. The chicken liver appetizer satisfied that craving that settled in as soon as I saw the menu... And I really enjoyed the oysters Rockefeller gratin, a combination of things I typically do not like. Both had a delicious breading that pulled together the flavor. The corn with the liver seemed a bit of an afterthought, but perhaps I just inhaled the liver too quickly. The oysters were salty, but hey, they're oysters. The shrimp purloo is almost shrimp & grits and almost risotto but stands on its own. The country ham is a fun touch. Again, quite salty, but no more than expected. I ended up bringing half home; it's that filling. My friends shared their beef brisket (oooohhh yeah) and special-of-the-night grouper. The grouper obviously was a tad overpowered by the time I tasted it, but the browned potato (?) served with helped carry the flavor. And after all this, I could handle only a spoonful of the pecan pie. Five of us split the two desserts... The food is that rich. Pricey, splurgy, and fun. Not as pricey considering I have another meal even after eating 'till I was about to burst. The servers were more attentive than we were. Our group came in split, yammered away about obscure topics, and kinda ignored our waiter a few times... But they were gracious and always available. Definitely will remember South City Kitchen for special occasions.

I don't usually write reviews but then again, I don't think I've ever had that much fun at a club. EVER If you've ever planned an event with any large group of people you know how much of a pain it is to get into any club without paying some obscene amount of money for bottle service and thats only for 1/2 your friends. As for the other half, be prepared to spend the night on the phone fielding calls from your friends who are still in line, then hope they get before you're to drunk to remember them. Loriann, our promoter was amazing in getting all of our friends in quickly and to easily the largest table I've ever seen. None of that squeeze as many tables into the dark corner that i've become so used to with so many clubs. It was great that it was outdoors and next to a bar/DJ so we rarely ventured far to drink/dance. Bottle Service was quick, attentive, and polite (so rare these days). They even let us swap out a bottle of champagne for vodka, for a little extra $$, without giving us attitude. Summary? This place was amazing, esp for a groups. It had all the elements of a hollywood and none of the typical crap that comes with those clubs. Great music, amazing venue, good drinks, great environment, and great service. You just need to bring your friends (all 50 of them :P) and you've got a party.
