Now here's a place where I can get my dance on.  Now ladies, you must know that if you come here, there will be dancing all night long.  There seem to be way more guys than girls, and these guys are all quite eager to spin you all over the dance floor. I had a great time when I went to Cocomo last Thursday.  I'll admit, it seemed like it was going to be geriatric night at the beginning, but it quickly picked up as the night went on (guess it was past the old men's bedtimes).  I had some great dance partners and some meh dance partners.  And then there was the guy who completely wreaked of bad alcohol and kept trying to spin me but didn't have a clue what he was doing; I had to fake a knee injury to get out of that one.  No, I'm not one of the salsa divas (to the contrary, I was a bit rusty after not salsa-ing for a while), I just like a guy who knows what he's doing.  OK, enough negativity, I did have a great time dancing.  And there are some amazing dancers to watch when you need to rest your tired tootsies.  And the mojito's were yummy also. So, get out your dancing shoes and get down to Cocomo for some salsa!  I hope I'll be back there soon.

I really only come here for bowling with friends but more recently a friend of mine had a going away thing her for her leaving the job and some of our friends are under 21 and they just banned under 21 year olds completely from attending here which I find to be really stupid being that is where they get a lot of their business. I am pretty sure it is because they have a live bar there but they had wristbands that they handed out to the under 21 year olds to prevent them from purchasing drinks but maybe someone who was over 21 did the whole "I'll go to the bar for you" kind of thing. Look, I understand the whole restriction thing but come on, its bowling!!!! I doubt you gonna catch someone wilding out or f***ing on the damn bowling aisle. A makeout session, maybe, but nothing that extreme, its not a dance club and its not a burlesque...be easy!!!! Its not that serious, let the late teeny boppers in. They have limited places to go as it is....By the way I am over 21 so its not as if I am vying for myself but for those who know how difficult it is to get into cool spots. I was there at one time.... They're wings, miniburgers and pizza are great though. Bowling is cool and the videos that play while you're bowling make the experience that much better!!!!

I have stayed at the Phoenix twice since turning 21. The Phoenix isn't the Hilton...so don't expect it to be. Instead, expect it to be as different as a hotel can be. Located in one of the seedier parts of town...The Tenderloin...The Phoenix is colorfully decorated, with a colorful history to boot, what with its Rock & Roll history. This place feels like it should be roadside on route 66 in the desert rather than the Tenderloin. The pool in its self is a reason to check this place out! It's covered in colorful predominately blue tile that looks straight out of a Vincent van Gogh painting. And, it's heated year round. The rooms are sort of decorated in cabana style. Onsite is the hotel's own club when I went there it was called Backflip but I think it's called Bambuddha now? Two more perks, a generous continental breakfast is served poolside each morning and the parking is free! Free in SF is hard to come by as most people well know. If you're looking to add something different to your night in the city, this place is worth it!
