by Kathleen P. on I've been here twice for dinner and music, and I think Coda rocks! Some of my favorite dishes are the ceasar salad (I go light on the dressing), crab ravioli, pork loin (DELICIOUS), Atlantic char, and the sauteed spinach. My friends whov'e had the steak say that is excellent as well. The space is absolutely beautiful, and the music is excellent. One of the highlights for me? The acoustics are set up so the place can be packed, but you can still have a conversation with the rest of your party without screaming. We went to dinner at Coda last weekend for my birthday, and I could hear all nine of my guests well without yelling. Also, the music doesn't blast you out. You can cuddle with your date, or make comments to your friends, and not feel overwhelmed by the music. This is a great venue!
by Lida Costanzo on One of the very best dining experiences we've ever had... Compared to one of our other Philly meals at Geno's Steaks.... Oh wait, there is NO comparison... Geno's was crappy and Morimoto is in a league of its own... All your senses come into play here... The interior design touches your sight sensories, the background music touches your hearing sensories and your tastebuds will have a sensory overload with the freshness of the sushi and the tastiness of the meats... Even their drinks were outstanding... Definitely a cutting edge restaurant I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to have a magical dining experience.....
by Lara H. on Club Waziema was one of my favorite hangouts when I lived in NoPa. They serve some of the best Ethiopian food in the city and have a great selection of beer, including Lagunitas IPA on tap. :))) Locals congregate here for the bar scene during the week and the live music on Thursday nights. Before the space was Club Waziema, it thrived as the jazz and soul nightclub, Club Morocco. Billie Holiday, James Brown and Tina Turner performed here during it's prime in the mid-70's. How cool is that?! It seems like the vintage red velvet wallpaper on the walls has been around since then too! The best thing about Club Waziema is the food is cheap. My best friend and I usually share the vegetarian combo with split lentil sauce, split pea sauce, mushroom sauce, vegetable stew, collard greens and salad. It's huge platter of food for only $9.00 that is guaranteed to make you stuffed! The worst thing about Club Waziema is the service is slow when it's crowded. Only one bartender and waitress work here, but the food and beer are well worth the wait! How could anyone resist an all-you-can-eat happy hour on Monday nights or live jazz on Thursdays nights? I heart Club Waziema!
