by Daniela Fernette on Tropiciana nightclub Is hot!! I love this place. I personally was a little hasitent of this club, because of the location, but I was really impressed. It's a nice atmospher and great music! However, I have to say the service was not all that great. I made reserveration and had to wait around for 15 min for someone to attend to me and when they finally service me, the waitdress had a nasty attitude. Therefore, I made sure that she did not service me through the night. The waitdress that did service me through the night was nice, but she took forever to bring orders to the table. On the postive note, the coordinator of the club was extremely helpful in setting up the reservations. Any problems that you have consult with the coordinator she will make sure that you are well taken care of.
by Imelda Brackbill on I think its appropriate to state before I start my review of this restaurant that I was excited about a michael mina restaurant coming to los angeles. My favorite restaurant in las vegas is nob hill and if this restaurant came anywhere close to the quality of food and service I receive there it would have easily received a five from me. Let's start with decor, it is a very beautiful and modern restaurant located next to the laugh factory on the sunset strip. It has a very welcoming decor complete with three fireplaces and a very hip outside patio bar. For dinner we did the taste la menu complete with wine pairing. The appetizer of wagyu beef was well seasoned but tasted no better than a piece of carne asada cut into strips on a fancy plate. The soup was bland and had parsnip balls that left a bitter taste in my mouth. The mains were not much better, the chicken was somewhat tough and served over macaroni and cheese with onion straws in it however the salmon was pretty good but nothing to write home about. The deserts were definitely the best part of the meal. We enjoyed the popcorn custard and the taro root desert. Now on to service which is definitely the worst part. Soups served with no spoons to eat them with took 5 minutes of me trying to flag someone down to get spoons. Each course of the wine pairing was merely set on the table with no description whatsoever. When I asked the runner who served us the wine for an idea of what we were drinking I was told it was not his job to do so that the server would. When the server came around 5 minutes later and I asked her for a description she told me the white one goes with the soup and the red with the beef. Each subsequent pairing was followed by an equally in depth description. Overall this restaurant left a lot to be desired and for the price it is definitely not worth it at all.
by Mihir S. on I heard through my Philadelphia sources that Tangerine closed down? NOOOOOOOOOOOO! I loved Tangerine. The sultry lounge and deliciously creative dishes. My favorite was the triple citrus Hamachi ceviche. Amazing. The shrimp and scallops Afriquan held it's ground. What's in it's place?
