Okay, first of all, I'm not your average 20-30 year old. I'm older (fifties) and I mention that, because I feel very comfortable at Coda. Lots of young singles - and thus a little hipper than Yoshi's, but folks my age who enjoy a beautiful club with great music will be comfortable there, too. The club is beautiful and sexy, with cool art. The service is friendly and excellent. And the food is amazing, which is unusual for music venues. And did I mention it was reasonably priced? I'm taking friends from Alaska there this weekend who are music aficionados and love a good cocktail and yummy food. I know they'll be bowled over.

I'm being rather generous with the 2 stars here. If i could give it 2 1/2 stars i would I had my birthday party here on Oct. 3 (the exact day of my birthday) until then i have never been there, but based on all other reviews i was expecting a hit or miss in a really small place. My party got there and the place was dead. a few people came later on, but, basically my party of 12 was the majority of people there. another party that was there had to leave because of the girl fight that broke out (most entertaining part of the club). If it wasn't for the cool promoter that, even though the place sucked, tried to make sure i celebrated my bday the right way, and my party, who could be at a cemetery and we would still have a blast, i would have walked out the moment i walked in. Now the place is not an ultra lounge but is Ultra Small. With no one but us there, the place was still almost packed...It is really really small, and on a busy night it would get annoying quick. As for the table, the prices are pretty good for bottle service prices but my gosh this place was small and dead on my night. Icon Ultra Small seems like a place that needs to be not to packed and not to dead, but juuuust right for it to get a lot of stars from someone.

Good food, fun bar-like atmosphere, and cheap prices. That, to me, is worth 4 stars. Having said that, it was my first time having Ethiopian food so I can't compare it to other places. This place definitely has more of a bar-like atmosphere though so I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for something nicer.
