by Alberto Basile on I'm going to give this place 3 stars because so far I have a hate/love relationship with Circle (though I've only been here once so far). pros: -fun to dance! loved the music, lights, strobes, fog machine haha -ladies are free before midnight -ladies got placed in a separate line than guys to get in first -ladies bathroom was never a long wait (surprising) -friendly bouncer got my friend's jacket even though she lost her coat check stub cons: -99% asian, if you're not, you might not get in -expensive drinks -if you're with guys, you get split up into two different lines - ladies and gents and they usually have to wait longer...or you can wait with your guy friends but not the other way around. neither pro or con: -coat check $4 -male waiters go around the club and 'book' girls (take girls to guys with bottle service to drink) -**if you use your card to purchase drinks at the bar, tip is automatically included!** I didn't recall meeting any super sketchy men and I didn't receive any bitchy looks from any other girls (shocker haha). I had a really good time dancing and drinking but I'm still not a fan of clubs that cater to any specific group (in the case, Asians...mostly Korean). I will be back..but not very often.
by Reginald Niner on XIV is not my favorite establishment in LA but I can say I appreciate the location, the set up, and the fact that they have a menu just for vegetarians so if you're dating one (or are one) you can still go out to eat a nice establishment without having to be surrounded by dirty vegans who haven't showed in a long time. While I haven't been due to the fact I try to wait until at least 3 PM to start raging on Saturdays or else I crash and burn, I've heard that they have some fairly decent parties for those who want to party at an earlier hour. So if you have been at an after party all night above Chateau, N. Crescent Heights, Laurel Canyon, Sunset Plaza, or even a little bit below, you can continue to party. Definitely a nice little location.
by Jane M. on Seriously, what is the hype about? The cheesesteaks are average (at best) with regular bread, regular meat, and cheese that tastes like processed nacho cheese. On top of that, the guy at the counter is SO RUDE. We sat near the window where guests were ordering, and we probably saw/heard 20 transactions. From these transactions, I gathered the following: 1. He's racist. NOT nice to Asians (even those that speak English PERFECTLY). There are a handful of signs that say "This is America. Speak in English." We asked him what the score was for the Eagles game (the game was playing on a TV right behind him), and he said "I see cheesesteaks, I don't tell people what the scores are." 5 minutes later, a Caucasian guy asked him the same questions, and he told him what the score was. He also gives out pens/souveniers, but not to Asian people. 2. He's rude. One guy asked for mushrooms on his cheesesteak, and he said they didn't have mushrooms. The guest paused for 2 seconds, and the guys goes "so, do you want it or not? yes or no? make a decision? come on come on." There was NO ONE behind this guest waiting to order... I don't know why he was in a hurry. I'll never go back here again!
