by Matthew B. on I came in skeptical of this place from some of the reviews and what my friends had said but i was actually pretty impressed. Food - 10/10 The Asian Salad and petite fillet were AMAZING. Who knew a nightclub could actually make decent food! their food special made it super cheap for a date! Lounge - 8/10 It was a Thursday and the pre-10pm crowd was a little light. Music was ok but i guess you cant expect much for dinner. Nightclub - 9/10 DEFINITELY the place to be. It started off a bit slow but man, by 12pm this place was packed! I went over to some of the other clubs and they were dead! Good crowd, good-looking people, good music...great time! A little crowded towards the end of the night and started getting pretty hot but other than that, no complaints! Consider me a new regular! Happy hour drinks right after work...COUNT ME IN!
by Maria Z. on Nikki Beach....an instant reminder of sun-drenched beaches of Miami and palms stirred by the ocean breeze...and you sipping Mojitos and Bahama Mamas there......that's how it feels there, in mid-town New York Nikki lounge. The interior captures the spirits of Nikki and Tiki bar type of settings, with a wooden slab bar and nice pastel draperies. I was a guest at a Beauty Pagant and a fashion show to support my friend-turned-fashion-designer. The crowd was very unusual,90% Italian and mostly professional grown up. The catwalk/stage in the main room was a clever invention for all the guests to enjoy the show. The performance of Sarina Suno, an Asian female with her glisty cute dress and attention-grabbing electrical violin to the cool techno beats was truly fantastic and entertaining. Also, there's one secret VIP room upstairs where you can enjoy the view downstairs and jam to hottest techno & club tunes. They also served food in quite heavy selections, something unusual for a club. The only 2 downsides: 1) The drinks are outrageously expensive, about 15 buck for mojito 2) The bathroom on main level lacks privacy as it's not separated by gender, plus what's crazy is that the wooden stall has some wide gaps in it so the male-towel-hander CAN see you behind!! I guess this is the nudist twist of this establisment....
by Jeremiah Barick on updated 11/07: ive been here a couple times since... my friend really loves this club. the cover is $7 now, which is still good seeing as it closes at 3. however, depending on the dj, it might get dead at 2. some of the djs on the house music floor are really good, but sometimes if you go it's just not too great. you just have to know your djs. probably the same is true of the hip hop room, i just dont really know the hip hop djs. the people dancing there seem to like it. there are tons of drunk people. that, besides the earlier mentioned bathroom situation, is the worst part. i'm not used to drunk people clubs. the drunk guys tend to be all over you (even a girl). they also fall a lot. but the same is true of most clubs or bars where people drink. i think i also forgot to mention last time there is a side outside patio area for smoking. you can try to go there for fresh air if you dont smoke but you end up getting really smokey in the process cuz it's small. this is a good place to go for a bit before you head to end up, since it's right down the st. original 10/06: After leaving 1015 folsom because of the lack of people, my friend and i joined our other friend, who was at dragon down the street. It was $5 to get in, and open till 3. It was packed! The top floor plays hip hop, and the bottom floor plays house, but a more afterhoursish type vocal house than you would expect from a $5 club. This is an asian gay bar, but anyone is welcome (yes even a white girl and a whiteish gay guy). The worst part of this club were the bathrooms. Each bathroom was just one stall, and so had long lines. When i did use the ladies room, there was no toilet paper. It was at the end of the night, but still... At least there were paper towels! I had lots of fun dancing there, and the people were friendly. The music was very good too. I would go back.
