I'm going to give this place 3 stars because so far I have a hate/love relationship with Circle (though I've only been here once so far). pros: -fun to dance! loved the music, lights, strobes, fog machine haha -ladies are free before midnight -ladies got placed in a separate line than guys to get in first -ladies bathroom was never a long wait (surprising) -friendly bouncer got my friend's jacket even though she lost her coat check stub cons: -99% asian, if you're not, you might not get in -expensive drinks -if you're with guys, you get split up into two different lines - ladies and gents and they usually have to wait longer...or you can wait with your guy friends but not the other way around. neither pro or con: -coat check $4 -male waiters go around the club and 'book' girls (take girls to guys with bottle service to drink) -**if you use your card to purchase drinks at the bar, tip is automatically included!** I didn't recall meeting any super sketchy men and I didn't receive any bitchy looks from any other girls (shocker haha). I had a really good time dancing and drinking but I'm still not a fan of clubs that cater to any specific group (in the case, Asians...mostly Korean). I will be back..but not very often.

Yet another reminder that good service and a happy waitstaff is sometimes the biggest difference between a great time and an eh time. The actual Frying Pan venue is awesome - kitschy but still authentic and there's enough space to bring a big group even on a weekend night. But that's about all it has going for it. Mediocre drinks at high prices, gross bathrooms and apathetic bartenders pretty much kill the good time buzz. One dude behind the bar actually rolled his eyes at me when I asked how much a pitcher of margaritas cost. Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize this was a "if you have to ask you can't afford it" kind of place. I definitely don't complain when my friends want to come here on a nice day because it is a great outdoor space, but I don't think it deserves such strong accolades.

If you enjoy live music and live anywhere in the greater Frisco area then you have to check out Yoshi's. First and foremost the venue's acoustics are very good. On both occasions that I have seen jazz shows at Yoshi's the sound quality was first rate. Second, this place attracts a wide variety of top tier talent. The only reason that I am not going to give it five stars is because the restaurant prices are very high for the quality of the food. That is not to say that the food is bad, by any means, but it is hard to justify at the price. In addition, the staff is very accommodating. On one occasion my reservation was messed up and the bouncer went out of his way to make sure that even though my seat was double booked, my date and I still had a great time. Damn cool staff. Bottom line: great music in a great setting. Call ahead/order on-line and reserve tickets, it will save you a headache.
