Name me a SINGLE other restaurant where you can get steak and eggs with grated truffles, truffle vinaigrette for $14. I'm still waiting...

OK, last weekend's experience makes me miss eleven50. Came here because a friend was having a birthday party here. We were able to get right in because the birthday boy who was with us was actually DJing there that night. They took us in a showed us to a table in the side room (or "Venetian Room," if you want to sound fancy) near where he was spinning. Then about 15 minutes later they come in and tell us to leave the table because they sold it to someone else. That sucked, and I felt bad for the birthday boy and wife. Management very douchey about it too. Music was fun and we danced around for a bit, but I digress from my tales of douchebaggery. Bartender in that area was an ass. Husband asked nicely if he could have an olive (he had just ordered two $8 vodka tonics) and the bartender told him "No, we need those for martinis." Later I ordered myself a bottle of water which cost $5, and asked for whatever the house single malt was for our friend. This dumbass served him a glass of Jack Daniels. We started to object but the guy had already moved on to screw other people. I ate all of his olives while he ignored us, and then we left.

Expectations soaring walking into the famed Ecco.  Always a bad thing.  Right to it: Meat and cheese choices - we went with the Prosciutto di Parma, Bresaola and Gouda.  All very good but the Prosciutto was the winner, some of the best I've had in a while. I went with the chili-braised pork with garlic and homemade pappardelle.  Man...this sounded good.  Big disappointment.  Bland as bland can be.  Overall it was probably a better meal than most places, but still...no chili taste, no garlic taste, pork a little overcooked.  The homemade pappardelle didn't really do justice to 'homemade'.  I'd pass on it the next time in. My wife had the strip steak which was much better.  Heavy smoke infused flavor that killed.  Beautiful.  However, the portion was sized for Minnie Mouse rather than Mighty Mouse. Overall, good meal, good atmosphere, good drinks, just not the big 'wow' I was expecting....but worth a return visit for sure.
