by Garry Herreras on PROS: -the slide (it's wood, very slippery and about 15 ft long) + there is a bouncer that catches you at the bottom of the slide so you don't end up on your butt. It also gets you to the club level faster than taking the stairs. -the piano....too bad it wasn't in use (it would be more fun run with the prohibition theme than the current music) CONS: -the women's restroom was a disaster...there was toilet paper everywhere -the women's restroom didn't have any soap/soap dispenser -table service area is not protected by any bouncers....anyone can join your party/drink your drinks; the table we received for table service was right near the entrance thus we kept getting random people who tried to sit out our table.
by Bobby l. on The BEST fish tacos I've had so far in my search for Baja fish tacos in the Bay Area. While not 100% like the fish tacos I fell in love with in Ensenada, these are the closest I've had since I've been there. If you've ever been in the Baja region of Mexico, you know (fried) fish tacos are lightly battered, huge piece of fish with cabbage, salsa, red and white sauce. Here at Nicks, the batter is a bit on the darker and heavier side. The cabbage is there, but the red and white sauce is missing. Instead, Nicks has their own green avocado and salsa sauce. Different, but delicious none the less! Like others have said, the tacos are super packed! I have to come back for the carne asada tacos!
by Williams Nafziger on I would rate the actual nightclub 1 Star but since my friends and I had such a great time I'm feeling generous. We came here for my friend's birthday. The area wasn't the best but we found street parking (which was free) so that was nice. There was also no line (surprise surprise) but since she knew the bouncer and we were pretty decent looking then they let us right in without a hitch or cover (actually... I'm not even sure there was even a cover, so scratch the decent looking part!). The bartender was a suuuuper cute petite brunette. What a gorgeous girl to be working at such a blah nightclub. So I give them another star just for her b/c she was so friendly, quick, and had a beautiful smile. Drinks were delish... The nightclub I'm sorry to say was just sooo ghetto (and not the good Jay-Z brand of ghetto) and so were the people :(. There were literally people freaking on the ground, not classy at all. At one point, people were hanging on the DJ platform and it actually started to come apart!! I thought I was going to get injured! My friends and I dressed up so nice and once we were inside we regretted not just sporting some baggy pants and t shirts. I was ass grabbed at one point, I would have hit the guy if he hadn't ran off and if I wasn't partially scared for my life. The line to the bathroom was backed up b/c of puking girls that can't hold their liquor... understandable at any nightclub so I guess I can't complain. However once my friends and I were in we noticed a very unslightly chunky puddle on the floor. Grosss... Music was decent but I was just honestly so not into the crowd that it didn't even matter what they played. Good thing her bouncer friend was awesome. I'm really giving this place a 3 b/c of him and the bartender.
