This is for Yoshi's "Garden of Eden" party on Feb 12, 2011: **Note** I'm sure Yoshi's is great when touted as a jazz club and Japanese restaurant. Thus I'm sorry to sully your ratings with 1 star, but that's your fault for letting a sub-par promoter/production company tarnish your image. -1 star: DIVERSIFY. You had an all-Asian crowd consisting of Chinese Mainlanders bitching in Mandarin about how "HK" (Hong Kong/Cantonese) the party crowd is. You had HK folks bitching in Cantonese about how there are too many Mainlanders. Heaven forbid I even mention the remarks from and by the Taiwanese and Vietnamese in attendance. -1 star: BULLSHIT/INCONSISTENT DRINKS. I ordered my favorite shot sober. Your bartender poured from the premium labeled bottle. The contents in that shot was rotgut. I believe refilling premium-brand bottles with cheap shit is not only a rip off, but illegal. Then, you charged me $8 each for a round of drinks. When I realized I was 2 short, I made another order with another bartender, and it was $5 per drink. How is there a $3 difference for the same item ordered within the scope of a few minutes? Is this like how you advertise a free guestlist, just to choke up the line so you can charge my $20 per head to get in? -1 star: Choking up the line until 11pm so people have to pay $20 cover. Standing in the cold in frustration as some twat with a lollipop in his mouth lets scantily clad girls in from the side. Thanks for reinforcing the idea that promoters aren't promoting the party per se, but their own ego. If you really wanted to make money, you'd let the PEOPLE WITH THE MONEY in first. Obviously, the smart people left en masse for other parties as soon as cover charges started. -1 star: By midnight, no one was waiting in line for your party. People inside starting noticing, and cell phones started coming out to find parties elsewhere. +1 star: Finding another party and leaving your venue.

We popped in here during the blues festival to cool off and get lunch. I've been wanting to try Nick's for a while since it gets rave reviews. I felt like something on the lighter side so I ordered the grilled fish tacos. They were good , the tortillas seem like they could have been a bit fresher? It was a much healthier option than all the deep fried battered stuff at the festival. If I go back I will try the crispy one.

Venue: GAMH is the oldest music hall in SF. Doesn't look much from the outside. But inside the elegance remains. High ceiling and intricate designs. Stepping into this hall brought me back in time. What a gem! Although spacious, it is now one of the smaller concert venues. But small equates to intimate. The balcony is great for avoiding the crowd. But we wanted to be close and stood on the stage floor. Totally rocked out for 3 hours! My only complaint is the lack of bathroom stalls. Single stall on the ground floor. Us girls in line considered using the men's, but the line for them was just as long. -- Perfomer: Flyleaf. I love their music and I love them even more after the concert! Lacey the lead singer was absolutely amazing and sounded incredible live. Awesome concert!!!
