Beautiful venue!!! Restaurant turned into night club after 10pm. Drai's is located on the 11th (12th?) floor and attached to the W hotel in Hollywood. Part of the venue is actually on a roof top, with beautiful cabanas, pools, fireplaces, all over looking LA. Since this is a new venue, its very hard to get in... The line did not move AT ALL! These people were letting all these pretty girls just stand outside and wait - to show their exclusitivity of course! And to NO surprise, when we got intside the club, it wasn't packed at all! We gave up waiting and got a table to save ourselves from freezing outside. The service was awesome!!! Total VIP treatment. Everybody was dressed to the max and having a great time! Plus got to see RIHANNA there! -1 star for the long wait and ridiculous price for tables!

Stopped in here for a business lunch yesterday in the pouring rain. It is a very nice space, with all the support beams preserved and encased in glass, and the staircase has the prettiest stained glass looking mosaic details. The table started with the Bread Spread Trio and The duck confit stuffed dates. These items were delicious. The duck/dates combo, wrapped with prosciutto were heavenly, and reminiscent of everyone's favorite tapas dish, bacon wrapped dates. Disappeared quickly! The bread spread trio included whipped feta (smooth and tasty), Olive tapenade (well seasoned) and a pomegranate walnut butter, which was to die for! Like a comfort food type apple butter spread with a much nuttier flavor. My entree was a fresh mozzarella stuffed chicken sandwich, which also had avocado, lettuce and tomato on it as well as a tomato based aioli. It was accompanied by sweet potato fries. While the fries were yummy they were pretty greasy and the sandwich was good, but nothing special and no real stand out flavor. My favorite part of the experience was the seasonings selection that was presented with the entrees, it was a cute three part dish that had sea salt, a salt/fennel mixture and a third seasoning I can't recall. It was accompanied by a very cute little wooden scooper that resembled a doll house sized back scratcher. I will probably be back as it is in the office 'hood, but would look to do a happy hour where the appetizers are flowing and the entrees can be avoided.
