by Barbie Santheson on Nice place. . . .went there last night with my new gay friends. Its in the Castro, so of course. . . enter the door and behind the black velvet curtain, reveals even more black. Black walls, black floors, even bartenders wearing black too. Then there's the chandeliers hanging from above and rotating lights on the dance floor to add some class. Its not a crowded spot, which I liked. Decent dance floor spot, a lot of sitting areas, and mix groups there. Well, mostly gay guys, but that's the thing. You can go here, and dance your ass off, and not feel like someone is gonna hit on you and disrupt your moment. I was like Whitney Houston in The Bodyguard. Drinks are okay. We order three shots of Cazadores tequila and a Stella. It was $32.00 bucks. Um, that's enough to buy a whole freaking' bottle of tequila. . . so I know next time to not get that for sure. In any case, I loved it. Will return once again in the future.
by Evie Moshier on Food: Excellent. Beyond excellent. The blackened green beans are one of a kind (at least as far as I've experienced), and the sausages and burgers are great. Service: Bizarre and wonderful. The waiters/bartenders all have distinct, quirky personalities and are just the kind of people you'd expect and want at a place like this. Beer Selection: Incredibly well curated and a staff knowledgeable and passionate enough about the selection to help know what's going on.
by Sam F. on My friend works at a gallery in nearby and sometimes I stop in before an opening to grab a drink and kill some time. It's nice enough but there's something about the atmosphere that is kind of cold and uninviting. Also, it's pretty expensive which is fine for one drink but I wouldn't want to spend a whole evening here. After one opening I went to a party on the top floor which I had previously not know existed. It was a pretty cool space that was half inside and half outside and there was a hot tub in the outside part. It was an open bar and it got pretty ridiculous pretty quickly. My advice is, don't go in the hot tub, in hindsight it was probably pretty gross. Anyway, The Park is an alright place I don't think I would go out of my way to visit but If I'm in the neighborhood and need to kill some time it's not a bad choice.
