Long wait for a table. Our waiter saw that we looked unhappy, smiled to reassure us that better times were ahead & said" IT'S ALL DOWNHILL FROM HERE!!" He was right. Food was just "alright, but salty" . We were treated like cattle. For $140 (for 2) on NYC Restaurant Week, it should have been much better.

This place is just ok. I really liked the tableside guacamole. Sure it's overpriced, but it's pretty tasty! Big chunks of avocado, fresh onions, cilantro etc. I got the chicken tacos, and though the serving looked small, I wasn't able to finish it. But I still think it was overpriced for what you get. And it's not like you eat and think "wow" - you just think, eh. It's Mexican. You can get the same quality for much less anywhere else. If I were to go back, I'd go for drinks (since I hear they are pretty good and didn't get to try today) and guacamole. Also the service started out great, then got really slow near the end of the meal.

I usually end up going here by default (friend knows a friend). I have come on Fridaysand Saturdays--always a different crowd (minus some of the same girls dancing on the bar). The DJ plays the same music every week-- my friends and I almost have it down to a science...However the bartenders rock and are super friendly. Vodka pours at midnight for those who like that sort of thing.. Honestly it is not my cup of tea.. but it is definitely cracking and Rouge does have a nice set up (bottle service areas etc)
