For you San Franciscans who want to get a taste of what a pretentious LA club is like, minus the glamour, Slide is where you need to be. Came here a while ago with friends who were having a celebration for a mutual friends' promotion at work. There is a door policy here...meaning that if your entourage isn't up to par or you don't have a prominent name inside (or on the guest list), then forget about a night at slide. I got in with my girls, and of course, they went down the slide. Yes. There is a slide inside. Now. Slide has a really interesting layout. Booths around the walls and really high tables for those who like to stand. The bar itself is very dimly lit with really awkward lighting fixtures on the wall. What really upset me about this place was the fact that for a place with such a door policy, the crowd was very...measley. I'm not calling people ugly or anything, but if you are striving for an attractive crowd, then do so. Don't half ass it. $10 drinks. Bogus music. As I tell all my friends, if you wanna have a great time bar hopping in San Francisco, just head to The Castro. It almost NEVER fails...and I'm not just being biased because I'm gay.

Nice ambience. It's definitely a unique and elegant place to spend a few hours - the antique powerplant look is thought and planned out to the very last detail. That said, there isn't much of reason to spend a night here aside from the atmosphere. There's almost always a 30 minute wait to get in as well as a hefty bill to pay or drinks. Most cocktails go for at least $15 and I must say that I've had better. The upsides are that the bar service isn't half bad, provided you can actually reach the counter. The spot is always crowded but never overcrowded. And if you're stuck in line, the bouncers are actually very reasonable and civilized.

This place is delicious! The sushi here is delectable. The staff is incredibly helpful and polite. The decor and interior has a very upscale feel to it. I asked one of the servers where they purchase their chili sauce and he went to the back, came back, and gave me the name of the place and directions also. Simply awesome!
