I only going Monday nights because they have free face painting! Really good art too. And one dollar vodka drinks. And balloon animals. And no cover. And amazing lazers. And short lines at the bar. Awesome.

We went to XIV during the dineLA week. I love the food, but giving it a four star because of the wait and the environment at the restaurant. As many of the previous rateclubsers had mentioned, we too had to wait for about 40 minutes to be seated. Our reservation was at 8:15 on a Thursday night, and we didn't get a table until 9. As we walked inside of the restaurant, I noticed that the restaurant is not very big. The noise level is a little high even to hold a normal conversation at the table. We had to raise our voice to have a conversation, at the end of the time, my throat was a little sore from all the "yelling." Other than that, the food was amazing. I guess that's why people are willing to put up with the wait in the first place. For appetizers, I got the XIV Caesar. I love the chef's unique way of preparing the salad. It's not the typical salad display that you get at the regular restaurant. It looks like the salad was freshly cut from one big bundle of leaves and nicely prepared with parmesan cheese and anchovies on top. For entrée, my boyfriend got the Jidori chicken, and I got the grilled salmon. Both dishes are as tender as they could be. They are very juicy and enough flavoring and not dry at all! I gotta say that the chicken is definitely worth the try. Dessert, my boyfriend had the American root beer float, and I had the yuzu curd. Our server gave us a hint to try to take all the different layers of the dessert and eat it in one bite to take in all the uniqueness of the different combination, and it was amazing! I could taste the different flavors in my yuzu curd - sweet, sour, fruity, and the different textures. With that said, I'd say that I would go back again to try out different food and the course menu. Just hope the wait is not going to be as long...

So last month my friends and i took a trip to Atlanta for a music Festival. We decided we had to try Varsity since we heard so much about it. We took the Marta to it and going in you feel the buzz from the crowd. I knew it was big but wow it was big...and thats where the honey moon ended I go up to order with a huge smile on my face waiting to hear it..... and then the lady behind the counter with the most monotone dead voice says "What'll have"....thats it? alright whatever, i thought. Maybe it was just that one worker so i went on to order. I got my order rushed to my seat and took a bite and i kid you not the first thing that came to my head was. What the F**K! It was the biggest disappointed i have ever had. This food was so generic and it tastes mass produced. Varsity is just a bigger Wienerschnitzel! there is nothing special about the food! its very bland and if i ever go back to Atlanta i will never go back to Varsity By the time we left the place we were so mad we nicknamed Varsity . We started calling it VarSHITTY! if u want a good meal and your at Varsity just leave the place! go across the street to Goodfellas. That where we ate later in the night
