I am really proud of myself for utilizing rateclubs! lately. My New Year's Resolution, as every year-is to try new places. So, when I had Friday night free this week I thought to myself, I am getting on rateclubs! and trying something new. Glad I tried Gloria's. It is a great place for a nice date night, without breaking the bank, as well as big parties (they sang happy birthday about 10 times while we were there). Loved the pupusas (spelling?), black bean dip, fresh guacamole. I loved the atmosphere and lighting, it was hoppin', and that's always a good feeling when you go to a restaurant. I also appreciated the fact that you do feel sassy and sexy (as I read in another review), be a great place for a lady's night, Birthday meal or special occasion and that's what was so nice about this place! Give it a try! PS I really wanted the margaritas (good deal at HH), but was somewhat sick, so opted not to drink. Tres Leches=delicioso!

When we arrived around 1:30am last Friday, I was more than certain that I never wanted to 'end up' here again. There wasn't one body there, and the front was demanding an outrageous cover charge, which I know is doubled on weekends. I hated their attitude; it completely turned me off. I came home to read reviews of The Endup on Rateclub, and I was surprised to see such positive reviews. The next time I am in the city, I will stop by again. If it sucks a second time, well, there's just nothing I can do about that.

S.F. needs more places like this. Whenever I travel to other cities I realize how deprived S.F. is for well designed, well run bars/clubs. Most bars in SF look like hack jobs designed by the owners brother. EVE is refreshingly stylish and classy and professional. I did notice some technical issues with the sound system and bar but I suspect after it's been open for a couple a weeks they'll be running on all cylinders. The staff for the most part are friendly and helpful. The doormen on the other hand were not, with their guest list, dress code, keeping guys online while letting in the women ahead of us. But compared other cities that's par for the coarse. Once inside it was chill, lots of smiling faces, well heeled, sexy couples mixed in with artist types. The DJ was mixing it up, a little Latin, Soul, Funk, some Hiphop and House etc... wish there was more rock and Electro mixed in, but for SF it was a nice change from the same 4x4 or Top 40 all night. I hope the Douche Bags don't ruin this place too.
