Finally was able to make it here after hearing constant praise for everything from the ketchup to burgers to the shakes. And I have to say that Bobby's Burger Palace is worth all of the hype. The Chipolte Ketchup was great with the fries and onion rings. Also, the burgers were great. I had Bobby's Blue Burger and my wife had the LA Burger. This place is definitely worth a try and we will be going back again at some point in the future.

So, I work downtown and usually frequent Rosa's Pizza on Broad Street. A friend mentioned that we should try Slice. I must say the whole experience was just ok - hence the three stars. (I'd stick to Rosa's - Rosa's doesn't have waiter service, but you get the pizza quicker and know what you're paying for). The decor at Slice is nice - they have a nice sized menu and serve alcohol. My problems were that I found the actual table used for four people to be a bit small (non of us are very large, which made it that much more strange) and the music to be very loud. I'm not complaining necessarily about all loud music, but during lunch it seems odd. During a night time event where you are trying to get people to dance - sure loud music is more acceptable. At lunch, I prefer or would rather would like to talk to the people I am with. My main complaint comes with the menu and the pricing. $2.25 for a slice of cheese pizza is fine, but let me explain the issue. The menu lists specialty pizzas for let say $18 for simplicity. My friend ordered one slice of the specialty pizza. When the bill came she was charged more than $5 for one slice of pizza. We all, mistakenly, had assumed that the charge would be (the price of the whole pizza ($18) divided by the number of slices in a pizza (9), plus maybe a surcharge for ordering a piece - for example $18/9 = $2 a slice + $1 or even $1.50 surcharge for total of $3 or $3.50 ) -- not the case. She was charged 85 cents for basil, and 75 cents for each other topping -- really? I mean 75 cents for garlic on one slice -- I can buy an entire freaking lump of garlic for less than $1 at the grocery store and I'm sure they didn't use almost an entire thing of garlic on the one slice of pizza - not to mention restaurants usually buy in bulk. I guess the lesson is don't assume anything at Slice. Overall the pizza was good - it would have just been nice to have had the waiter warn us about the weird pricing habits of Slice. I thought, at a minimum the waiter should have said to us that he would itemize the ingredients. $5 plus will get you two slices down the street.

Nothing special here. After having to stand in a ridiculous long line and to deal with with obnoxious bouncers and promoters, we paid a $20 cover to get in, only to find out the place was half empty inside. The interior of the place is not at all fancy, except a jellyfish exhibit behind the bar. The music was horrible, the dance floor is small, and no one was dancing. After two drinks, which were $16 each, I was grabbed by the arm by a bouncer and thrown outside, without an explanation. We were leaving already anyways. PS: This place seems to have a preferential treatment towards non-Asians.
