I've only been to Ruby Skye on 2 occasions.  I try to make it out to shows of DJ's or bands I actually know of or at least have heard of them, while looking forward to hearing this "Artist" perform for some time before a show. On the other hand you have this huge gang of bridge and tunnel heads waiting in this line around the block that have no idea who the DJ is, nor do they care.  By the time you make it to the Bouncer with the clip board at the doors - you realize you could have bought a ticket at the door and waited just as long with "Will-call" tickets purchased on-line.   I was waiting outside so long I was starting to enjoy the buzz and electricity of being on the street. The bar tenders were workin' it - all 3 that I saw there- it wouldn't hurt to hire at least 2 tenders for a venue that size. I also dropped my cell phone on the dance floor where my GPS last located the phone !  It has yet to be returned to me by either the staff or the person who found it there- that in itself makes my last clubbing memory at Ruby Skye a downer leaving a real sketchy-sketchy vibe to it. Being a female it never ceases to amaze me when I see Women wearing short blouses as a dress with all their stuff hanging out for everyone to see, along with the 4 inch heels.  I take my dancing seriously, i'd keep the venue, keep the performers, loose the high heels, and question the crowd - heads up they might keep your lost cell phone. so yeah if i made it out with my cell phone intact I would have gave this venue probably 4 stars. and Girls go home and put some panties on, under that mini-shirt!

I've tried to go here half dozen times, but the parking nightmare there has always steered me elsewhere. My suggestion - get more valets. This was Thursday night and still a parking log jam. Ok, that said, I went to a cocktail function on the Terrace. The drinks ranged from $14 to $20 for wine and cocktails etc.... my Jack & Ginger was tasty. I decided to stay and have dinner since I had heard such great things.  The decor is fun and very upscale. We sat by the fireplace which added a nice touch. It was late and we weren't that hungry so the 11 item tasting menu was out. I was THRILLED that they have a special vegetarian menu loaded with more than lettuce done a zillion different ways. We went all vegetarian and decided to split everything. We started with the Ceasar Salad. It had these awesome raisin tomatoes and was great. Then we had the asparagus taster - yummmmm!!! We ordered the vegetarian burger and it was FANTASTIC and we even indulged and ate the fries. My favorite dipping sauce was the dill. For dessert I had a decaf latte which was perfect and we split the Apple dessert. It was heavenly. Now probably the most amazing thing we had all night was the naan and raita they bring when you sit down. The naan was best naan ever. I swear it tasted like there was maple syrup somewhere in there. They will bring  you more if  you ask and we asked!!! Apparently there is one Indian guy in the kitchen who makes the naan. He is the only one with the secret ingredient. I had a glass of wine and our tab was about $90 (but we split everything, so double that if you both eat). The bar tab was $40 each plus - add we both used valet another $30 (10 each +tip). So, an evening for two is about $300. It definitely wasn't a casual investment but it was worth it and I would definitely go back. Our darling waitress, Collette, knew everything about the food and the menu. She was a fabulous guide through our meal. We were dressed up - suit and little black dress, but many folks were there in jeans. It's a nice place, I say dress up. I'd give them 5 stars if not for the parking.

Copa hosted a party for the Costa Rican independence day. It was a lot of fun to hear the traditional music and eat the great food. They have these Latino parties a lot, especially around World Cup time. But, this is a great dance place. I love the atmosphere, too with the patio and plants. You can't find another dance club like this, and most of the time it really makes me wish I would have taken salsa lessons or something because every one who dances looks like a pro. So, if you are self-conscious like me, drink a whole bunch of Pacifico's (very tasty beer). You'll be dancing with the stars. In your head.
