by Shelton Bigda on In the spirit of trying new places we stumbled upon Kokopelli for linner ( yes that's right linner ) we did a wine class and I was a bit hungry after downing so great bubbly. We decided to just go and see what all the fuss was about. We arrived around 4:45 it was DEAD only one other table and they were obnoxiously wasted at this time... we decided to start with a few small plates to see how full we got ... the thing with tapas is you can always over order and then you feel obligated to stuff yourself to capacity... The food-plantain chips and trio of sauces amazingly crisp the sweet salsa was my favorite the guacamole was just blah ive had better check out el vez for the real deal I forgot to request my free margarita but since I had so much to drink already I opted to stay away from the tequila. My beau got wanted a brew and he was hoping for a beer he hadn't tried before ... ( beer list isn't that great) but since Modelo is like the Miller Lite of Mexican Beer he just decided to opted to a Sierra Nevada ...we got the jumbo prawns very good if you like spice and sweet doing a dance in your mouth. The potatoes were really good they may have been tossed in some kind of lemon vinaigrette but the were excellent. In addition we got the bison sliders and a tequila flight. We decided we would just chill and sip our drinks and chat .. our server was MIA for like 30 min luckily they had a food runner and someone else available to bring us the check when we were ready to head out. Just because the restaurant isn't busy doesn't mean the servers should pretend to be Houdini .

by Geno T. on Mynt is what Chicago's Moda Club dreams of being. It's about fashion, good music, plasma monitors showing short clips of club-glam-energy. The crowd is CHIC...VERY CHIC. The women all beautiful, but I would NOT bet a shiny nickel they were all over 21. The energy is good, with women & girls (for those under 21) not hesitating to dance on the catwalk along the walls. Lighting is very dim, and Techno/House is blasting through a premium sound system. CAUTIONARY NOTE: If you're sensitive to excessively loud music in enclosed spaces, this might be too much for you. There is a hidden VIP room to the left of the DJ booth. We split our time evenly between the two areas. The lighting in VIP is brighter than that of the main area, and the space is much more intimate, and music not quite as loud. Possible Excitement Note: THEY BE STARS IN VIP! Oh..and this club is "COOL"....literally. They have it well air-conditioned so you never get hot and sweaty. This is GOOD! Cover was $20, total, for my friend Diem, my gf, and me. (I'm assuming the girls got in free and the $20 applied to me) Drink prices: I wouldn't know. Did comp'd bottle service courtesy of a promoter friend. This also means I cannot speak to bartender service PROS: All in all a good place to chill and have a good time in Miami. Great decor, music, and crowd. All very CHIC. CONS: The VIP room is a bit "snug", some of the "women" (girls) are possibly in jail-bait territory...(Check IDs fellas..seriously..because I can assure you...the doormen HAVE NOT). 0.5 star deduction. Recommendation: Fridays and Saturdays seem to be the best nights. Guys, expect to pay cover ranging from $10-20..try to negotiate with the bouncers...they are flexible if you are decently dressed..so as long as you're not with a whole GANG Of guys.. Ladies, if you don't mind using your charms, smile at the bouncers and you'll likely get in free.
