empty on a thurs nite... great thing tho is te bartender is super nice bout it and didn't overcharge us for drinks cuz it was like literally a dead night... would love to see how it is when a promoter makes this place happen tho! sad that people don't come here outside of when there are promotions going on!

I've been a Divisadero resident since '98. I remember when Waziema opened. I felt like somehow, someway this cozy little haunt would someday blossom into a local favorite. Unfortunately, this just wasn't the case. What could be the best dive bar in the neighborhood is plagued by aloof and sometimes almost non-existent service. It doesn't matter if there 5 people t the bar or 50. It usually takes about 10 minutes to get the staff's attention and order drinks. Sure I and many other neighborhood dwellers still drop by after the Page's cozy happy hour vibe is stomped into submission by boisterous frat boys and their beer bolstered bravado (say that fast 3 times!) I and almost everybody I know wants more for the place. Regretfully, I fear the owners are busy being oblivious and inattentive. Let's just hope the old Fulton Street Bar magically opens again so we can once again find refuge from the cold, cold world.

We were here for a rehearsal dinner and I was definitely impressed. From the cheesy stuffed mushrooms, to the canneloni, and chicken marsala, everything was superb! There's a bar upstairs and downstairs and there's even a dance floor with a DJ in a separate room. Despite our large party of about 50, the waitstaff were friendly and responsive and never left a wine glass empty for very long.
