Happy New Year and what a party! We set it off proper, like the New Year should be celebrated. The 80's music was totally rad. We went to Mighty for the 1984 Free NYE Bash, got there early and secured ourselves a table with good friends. What a great way to start off the New Year? No lines for entrance or booze, but coat check was off the hook. The drinks were pricey, but then again it was a free event. It was worth the $9 a cocktail when it came down to it. The place got crowded towards midnight, everyone streaming in for the free champagne perhaps? We scored ourselves a couple complimentary bottles of bubbly for our table and had a blast dancing the night away. That's how we do it in 2011, Good times!!! Happy New Year!

Downstairs was insanely packed. We couldn't even get in, the place was so jammed. So we went back upstairs and were quickly seated at a lounge/chair/table. Service was quick, and they were friendly. The bar staff was super friendly as well. He recommended a nice glass to match the jager bombs we devoured. One lovely lady fell on my friend's lap, which he was very entertained with. And another drunken fella fell on the table, spilling champagne everywhere (of course, they brought out a second second bottle to replace the one that ended up everywhere). All in all, thoroughly entertaining. I reserve one star for when I go back with a better memory. ^^

if you are wandering in Little 5 Points aimlessly, and need a drink or want to hear not so mainstream music, usually a local act, go to STAR COMMUNITY BAR. I've seen GUITAR WOLF, WOGGLES, KINGSIZED, NEON CHRIST and countless of other bands, though mainly local ones, it's a great place to check out what ATL has to offer. If you're all about 99X rock star mentality, you're better off going across the street to Junkman's daughter for another NIN t-shirt. If you prefer the strip down version of it, come pay a visit. Now git me a PBR.
