My ex-manager took me here. We didn't make reservations so clearly we didn't get a table. (Nothing was available till 10pm, note to self: make reservations if u want a table) However, they let u order the full menu if u sit at the lounge downstairs or by the bar on the mezzanine. So we went up to the bar and ordered some cranberry sodas and looked at the menus. I had rateclubsed this place before I came and found out the kobe beef and chilean sea bass were high recommended. Unfortunately u can't have the kobe beef at the bar because its shabu-shabu. So I had the sea bass instead and it was DELICIOUS! It was smooth and tasty with its miso. I also recommed the Crispy tuna sashimi as an appetizer. Crunchy and raw at the same time. YUM..of course, who could miss the giant Buddha and extra large chinese scrolls on the ceiling with insanely large chinese characters that could kick ur a$$. The decor is fusion-asian, typical of any place fashioned like this. Kinda reminded me of Buddha Bar. I'm definitely coming back. And this time, I'll make reservations and order the Kobe beef Shabu shabu! :P

We had a table for 8 for yesterday's 2:30 Sunday's a drag brunch buffet and drag show. Our table was literally attached to the stage, which made me nervous, but did turn out to be a great view of the show. $40 for the buffet and show, all you can eat. The food was ok... the french toast was WAY too sweet, but the roast with gravy was really good. My friend did feel self conscious eating once the show began, so didnt eat as much as he could have, but that's his own fault. we took another friend's mom here for her visit from out of town. she enjoyed it a lot... the show was well done, and classy. it was the first i've seen in SF, but i've seen tons elsewhere. The performers were very talented, and well-costumed, and also not mean. They didn't pick on any of the audience. They helped the audience participate, but in a fun, nice way. The only reason i leave off a star, is for the food. I know it's not really about the food... but it could be a bit better for the price. Otherwise, great show, and something to take a visiting guest to, or go see yourself.

Holy shit! Did I just hear DMX being mixed with the bass line of Ace of Base? I couldn't believe it!  It actually made quite a sweet mix of music that I haven't heard since my car-ride home with my older sister when I was a kid - and it was mixed perfectly with some of the blockbuster radio hits of today! I loved it. The track that took the cake was when the DJs brought back Snow "Informer" and mixed it with Madonna. I thought that the live band at the beginning of the night was a fabulous touch. Even though Adrian (the lead singer) doesn't have the best voice, his enthusiasm and energy just permeates throughout the crowd and thus makes everybody have a great time. Tess M. had it right on the money - all the music makes you think while you dance. The entire night, my friend and I were trying to guess the combinations of mashups - and it totally brought back middle school nostalgia. This is a great spot to bring a big group of people to just go crazy over old and new music. Plus, when you show up to DNA lounge, it's like Halloween on a random 2nd Friday of every month. I will definitely be back with a dancing battalion in four weeks!
