by Massiel O. on Let me start by saying that it's not worth a cover charge - go online and get on their "rsvp" list and pay $0. I was looking for a Friday night place to go to with some friends but where I didn't necessarily have to dance w them all night! Columbus 72 didn't exactly fit my needs as the crowd was much older than I expected (30+) and not many of the guys that did pull me out to dance could dance spanish music. If you can't dance salsa, then you shouldn't be asking a random stranger out to dance... I'm sorry, but its complete torture to have to dance salsa like a fool!! Oh btw, both DJs sucked. The latin dj would play 15 songs of salsa, then 15 of merengue, then 15 of bachata. Come on dude! Ever heard of mixing?! Apparently the situation in the hip hop room was worse bc no one was dancing, although quite full. In the end, had an ok time because I went with a group of friends. Probably not a good idea to come here to dance with others...
by Tim O. on My favorite record store in the city. Punk cds on the left, indie on the right, vinyl in the back. good selection of new releases. i never leave without buying something. Cds aren't expensive. you can find most stuff for 9.99-12.99. New vinyl releases line the walls of the back room. Staff is very nice and knowledgeable. It's what a record store should look like. Two doors down from fabled dive bar Tattooed Mom's, make a day of it.
by Nada Manor on This place is great for groups and for dates. So versatile! Order a pitcher and get your bowling on. For those in your party who don't love bowling (who doesn't?), they can hang out at the bar. Only drawback is that Bowlmor is pricier than most and you'll rack up that bill really quickly.
