This place was great. Great atmosphere, great dj, great looking girls; what more can you ask for? No cover charge. All the people giving it one star are probably just upset that they didnt get in. No big line, got in no problem. A great spot in Hollywood for sure.

I've been here a few times now, usually for 84 or Gossip, and I've always managed to have a good time. I prefer the back room, partially because the bar is easier to get to, but mainly because that's where they play the lesser-known stuff and have video projections. The last time I was there it was for a Morrissey tribute, complete with random Morrissey clones. Kinda creepy, especially when they were dancing on the little platforms in 3s, but kinda cool, especially the ones who genuinely looked like him. And yes, I was er, "inspired" (*cough*drunk*cough*faded*cough*sloshed*cough*) enough to act out the lyrics to "Girlfriend in a Coma." I wasn't the only one making a fool out myself though so it's okay. :] They do have occaisional drink specials (the one at Gossip was a big stein of Sam Adams for $7 and you got to keep the glass) and no cover if you go early (how early depends on what the event is). However, this is one of the few places I'll go and not care too much about the cover, or even what I'm wearing (I was the lone chick wearing sweats and a t-shirt in a sea of black and plaid - unintentional, but that's just how I roll sometimes).

I wasn't planning on heading out to the 222 Club but since my friends wanted to dance and Medjool was boring we decided to bounce. Well, as luck would have it I remembered that one of SF's famous party crews, Green Gorilla Lounge was having their regular Wednesday night shindig at this venue. Location: A little scary since its in the Tenderloin. Parking: Easy, we had a spot around the corner from the venue. Facade: A bar with bars, how clever. Space: The bar area is a little tight and two people can barely get through to get to the dance floor downstairs. Drinks: Not weak nor strong, just right. My tab for Wednesday night was $70. (2) Ketel One and Cran, (2) Ketel One and soda, (2) shots of Frenet, (2) shots of Jameson and (1) Crown and Coke. Not bad. Ok, before you start sending me links to AA and volunteering to become my sponsor, I did not drink all of those drinks. They were for friends, I only had (2). Seriously. Dance Floor: A little small, cramped but with everyone smiling and dancing it really didn't matter. Music: Phenomenal. If you want a place to get your groove on and listen to some soul shaking, feet flashing, heart pounding house music, then Wednesday nights are made just for you. Last night was a special treat because one of my favorite house DJs, Jeno of the infamous Wicked crew was djing. Much respect to one of the originators of house music on the West Coast. All said and done, a fun time since the place was packed, the music was banging, and there were tons of cute girls. WTF? In the Tenderloin? Say it isn't so my friend!
