It's so pretty! Walking in feels like going into Edison Bar, with that old grand classy feeling, except walking up stairs instead of down stairs. The downstairs feels like you're waiting in a train station at Grand Central or something. The dance floor is huge! (Bar gets crowded though and service is kinda bad.) But music is good and comfy lounge areas to sit. Oh, and it's not in Hollywood! Woot. Not necessary to get crazy valet parking or overpriced lots. :) Would love going again.

Mint is a an ultra secret lounge and hookah bar right next to Desta. Yes, I know you thought, like I, that the place next door was a bakery, which is what the sign portrayed it as. In actuality, it is a very nice lounge and the bakery sign overhead is now gone. Walk through the opaque double doors and you will be inside a very stylish lounge. Lots of nooks for gathering a group and smoking on the hookah. They have a good selection of liquor, while the beer selection is just decent. They have the requisite beers but nothing too fabulous. Not sure about their hookah since I don't smoke but the people who were there to smoke seemed to be enjoying it.

I wish, I wish, I wish.. that I could give this a 4+ star review.. being I have been here many times, and a few of my friends work here.. but I cannot.. because it is always hit or miss.. and suprisingly.. the more dead the venue, the better.. in my opinion.. The minute sebastion shows up for wed. and packs this place with what appears to be a clone of everything you despise about tools who spend their entire pay check on an overpriced sport coat to wear with their designer jeans and white nikes and brushed back .. gel'd I just flew in from Long Island guido hair.. you're going to wish you didnt just spend 20$ to park your car across the street. Most of the patrons on busy nights are snobs.. pimps (read: literally) and wanna be big shots who constantly attempt to park their leased mercedes in the valet/taxi curb out front.. only to be asked to move it upon exiting.. To get a drink here is damn near impossible on a busy night as the bar is slam packed with shoulder to shoulder people who arent moving.. and dont dare try to squeeze in to get a drink.. heaven forbid you bump into their sportcoat.. I love the staff here, most are very friendly and the drinks are incredibly crafted (you'll pay for that, trust me).. My suggestion to you, avoid Wednesday nights here and if you really want to experience it, come on a weekend where the crowds aren't too overly bearing. Now the last two Wed. I was there were event nights, 10th aniversary and Valentines Day. However I have attended on slower Wednesdays but I still found it to be a little to packed for me. My favorite part about days where this place is too packed is when the security prods people like cattle asking them to move in a direction.. "keep moving" they say.. its fun watching people ackwardly try to move around.. the layout of the venue is very long and narrow and has a HUGE bottle neck between the seating and the bar, so its quite the spectical to watch.
