So we all know the iron chef- you've seen it on tv. Come see the restaurant that started it all (that is if you don't count Morimoto's stint as nobu's sous chef). The food is so fresh, exciting and interesting- lived up to the expectations for sure. The decor was as surprise- no detail was overlooked in this restaurant starting with the food, the plate the food is served on, the dining room the guests sit in- all done with such a cool twist. my one negative would be the host stand- a few of the girls were a hot mess! I know it was a slow night but hearing about their plans while we wait to be sat was...well not what Morimoto would have wanted for his lobby. Good staff is hard to find and since the rest of the staff was so on point- I let it slide.

Ye gods, I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet! I LOVE the food here. They don't take credit cards, which makes me sad, but the quality of the grub more than makes up for it. Expect to spend somewhere around $10 for lunch (including a cookie). I tend to get the avocado & fresh veggies sandwich, usually on the default wheat bread (though sourdough is good too). Soup-wise, I've had their french onion, cream of asparagus, and clam chowder. All were quite tasty, though I think I like the chowder the best. Their cookies are de-freakin'-licious! I am especially fond of the oatmeal raisin.

Man, if you spend a few hours at this bar you will go directly home and cancel your cable subscription. There is a nice, huge window that acts as the best flat screen HDTV in town! Endless hours of entertainment to be watched at this delightfully amusing corner of the universe. The bartender we had on Saturday was awesome, with an attention to detail that you might not expect from a 'dive bar'. To top it all off, I danced with a priest to the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack.
