by j o. on Mezzanine is one of my favorite venues in the city. There's an upstairs VIP area, and a HUGE indoor/outdoor smoking area, with chairs and tables. Though I have been told (one or two times) to "settle down" and drink a bottle of water, the security is chill here. I've never gotten kicked out, which is a good thing in my book. The bartenders are cool too.
by nicole g. on I thought the decor would be a little more dramatic given the hype but other than that i had a great time here! Didnt have to wait in line, when we got inside the security was so nice- they kept taking pictures for me and my friend until we liked the way they came out- we asked him to come over to take a group shot and he did- so nicee! Drinks were your typical Manhattan price- they were made perfectly though. It was a more intimate space which i love but some people dont care for. The next time i go i want to go to the private VIP room and check that out otherwise im not in a rush to get back there right away but definately an overall fun time!

It's a great venue with intimate seating as well as standing room (it's nice to have variety, especially when there are THREE openers for the show you go to...sheesh...not the club's fault). Accoustics are decent. Decor is minimal, but I didn't come there to stare at the walls, did I? Staff is FRIENDLY (which is more than I can say for some other SF clubs *cough* Slim's *cough*), and all in all, I look forward to it when a band/act I like is planning on playing there :)
