by Carly A. on The room we got had a crappy view of the roof. There were various stains on the white furniture, as well as slashes in the leather with crappy repair jobs. The bathroom had a lot of cracked tiles, and made the otherwise normal bathroom look janky. The A/C was prehistoric and perhaps the first thing they bought when they acquired the property in 1927. It sounded like a T-Rex on the hunt for dinner, luckily when I got back to the room I was so tired I was able to drown it out. The burger restaurant located within the hotel had a good burger, with a lot of condiment and topping choices. Upon check out, the valet girl was either mentally handicapped or on shrooms. My boyfriend handed the valet ticket to her, and it happened to be upside down, she told him that he needed to flip it over and hand it to her right side up so she could scan it correctly- she stared at his hand until he did so. I guess she needed more practice to get that one down. Maybe we should send her a bill for the lesson. Anyways, if we were in the area and were hungry, we might stop by for a burger, but that's about it.
by Nita Bouska on Great for live Jazz. Didn't have tickets for Cassandra Wilson so lined up about an hour before the show and got seats at the bar. Food and drinks are expensive, but are good and with generous portion size (had a $12 fruit and cheese plate which came with way more than $12 worth of cheese on it, and very yummy!). The bouncers do a good job and are very professional.
