by francis c. on I've been to Bruno's often now, so my review is based on the "nightlife" of the place, as well as the food prior to the lounge opening to the party people. Food: The food was good. I was surprised by the taste since I was not expecting much from the menu selection. Tasty, although the service was slow. In terms of nightlife, it's a mix crowd. Very casual, so you can dress how ever you feel and your never too under dressed. The dj has a good mix of old school & top 40. I do enjoy coming here always, No cover before 10! and just a good time. Drinks are around 9 bucks or so, parking can be somewhat hard if you don't get there early.
by Michelle L. on Love this place. I went on a Wednesday night and the place was craaackling with all the sweet sweaty spoken word. Everyone there (poets and audience alike) has such heart. Logistics: we got there a little before 9 and got in right when it opened. We were able to get a table pretty quickly once we went in and the show didn't start until about 9:20ish or so. There is a second floor/balcony that got pretty rowdy. Bring your clapping hands. Only serves wine and beer. Only one bathroom, but it was alright, I hardly had to wait. If you look like an out of towner and/or aren't providing a contribution to the spoken word, you may be asked to be a judge. If you think you might leave earlier than the close of show (around midnight), you might want to refuse... but why would you? Sheesh.
by Chris Aegerter on Went here on a Saturday Night..pretty neat concept with the private pink booths with full waiter service saves on having to go to the bar each time, However..this is definitely a club for the 18-25 age group ha! My husband and I are in our early 30s..and felt REALLY out of place! Music a bit too loud for my taste too.
