by Princess Buttercup C. on How is it I go to a gay bar and meet the one lone, drunk, straight creeper who looks straight out of a fraternity and is sporting a charlie brown style shirt that asked me to go home with him? HOW? Aside from the Cougar Hunter, this is fun. Strong drinks, and you can see nekkid penises here on stage. Also, I wouldn't want to see the pool table under a blue light, if you know what I mean and I think you do.
by Nadia D. on Let's see...what can I say about 1 Oak. Well let's start by saying that the doorguy(s) is a complete asshole...so be prepared. I really advise you come either alone or with only 1 other person, preferrably of the opposite sex. Must be Hot or You're not getting in. Just how it works. The drinks are truly overpriced, but it's an overall great time once you're in and enjoying the music. They have a small spot in the back where you can smoke cigarettes so that's definite plus. I happen to like this place so I gave it an A-OK. Good Luck! xo
by Joannie Schepis on restaurant and lounge? defiantly not ! i came to this place on a Saturday night..and its a club to get in ..gotta know a promoter, look really good, or buy bottles (but what else is new ) for an LA club its HUGE 3 different dance floors...2 sets of music playing very eclectic mix of people..i felt like a casting director for every vh1 show at the same time from hipsters,to tools, to wannabe pick up artist, to strippers , and much much more. top complaints: 1) bathrooms two thirds of bathrooms are single stalls with a lock on the door you can only imagine what goes on inside once the door is locked the boys bathroom has a huge wait because the three boys inside were um..really busy...uh..dealing with their sinus congestion 2) traffic / parking the valet entrance is off robertson right below santa monica enough said to get to pick up your car you have to exit through a small little door on the side of the club...walk through a sketchy alley...around the corner..and out the other side on peer drive and down the street this place is suppose to be "import from new york" thus the name...but its so LA it should have been named smog instead haha
