I am a big fan of good food with my happy hour specials, and I am an even bigger fan of pizza. My love affair with pizza has been going on since I was a young'un, and Red House only intensified the passion in my relationship with pizza. It might be a little overpriced once you are out of happy hour range, but if you make it out there during happy hour, you will be treated to a thin-crust, floppy pizza with a sweet tomato sauce and an amazing sausage and red pepper topping that will blow your mind. Couple that with a couple pitchers of beer and your best buds, and you're in business for a few hours. I also love how the pizza comes out on this silver tray. It just adds a nice flourish to the whole thing. I've never sat inside (it's always too crowded on Friday during happy hour), but the outdoor patio is perfectly serviceable, they have ice water nearby for those hot summer days, and the staff seem just fine with your moving around tables and chairs to accommodate your group. I can't really comment on the table service, as every time I have been I just take the easier route and wait in the long line to order at the bar. It's always seemed easier than catching the attention of the wait staff. The bartenders have always been friendly and efficient, though, and the line moves along at a reasonable pace. Haven't had happy hour here in a while... I'm thinking I need to rectify that asap.

I came with a group of friends for NYE and was honestly a little skeptical reading all these bad reviews about Highlands...but in the end, it wasn't that bad! We bought tickets online and had no trouble getting in and didn't wait too long. The crowd seemed like a lot of Af Am and Indian 30 somethings at first, but it got more diverse toward the end of the night. Entertainment was interesting..There were a lot of different rooms with different music, so go find what you like. Upstairs had a lot of places to sit and relax and enjoy the nice city views (but watch out for the sticky floor- I witnessed some girl trip because her shoe got stuck..or she was drunk). The people were very friendly, and since it was of the older crowd, they were respectful and asked you to dance. I don't really care for guys who just try to sneak a grind in. However, a small shoving match did break out once it turned midnight. (guessing some guy kissed another guy's woman?) It was intense and I feared for my life, but no one died. I was disappointed there were a lotttt of song repeats throughout the night in the same room, but I guess that's why they offered the different rooms. Bathroom was a decent size, and I LOVED their selection of goodies- mango pops and m&ms FTW! How much fun you have in a night out depends a lot on who you're with, but it also depends on the venue. All I know is I had the best NYE countdown and I wouldn't change it for the world.

food was decent - nothing to die for. that being said, the rest of the venue was great. they accomodated a large group for us- and we were also able to stay afterwards for the club. i would recommend this place overall.
