by Ting A. on one of my friends celebrated her bday here. i didn't have to pay, but i think that the $10 cover should be moved from 10pm to at least 11pm. the lychee-pineapple martini was delicious, but lacked alcohol. the ground level hip hop room seriously lacked ventilation. decent music, though, i was genuinely thrilled when the dj rapped over a few instrumentals and played 'ditty', by paper boy, at one point in the evening. another highlight was watching several marina-type girls 'dance' early on in the evening. ...guess circa was too crowded that night.

It's an middle of the road bar, the drinks are tasty, the bartenders are friendly enough, but I mean it has hosted Elements for longer than I can remember, Thursdays at the Phoenix is the last bastion of awesome electronic music in Boston, may it never die.
