by Mike I. on I always thought of the Golden Temple as an overpriced, gaudy restaurant, good for big groups and a random dance party. I'm not really sure why I had that idea in my head, and it's too bad because it had been too long between visits for me. We went on Saturday night with a group of 6. We were seated promptly, but from there the service was pretty erratic. That was the only problem though, the food was really good, the Golden Temple Mai Tais are outstanding (but watch out after you've had a couple), and the prices are actually pretty good for a sit down Chinese restaurant. Yeah- other reviewers, I know it's more expensive than a take-out place down the street, but you can't get the GT experience at a take out place. It definitely won't take as long to go back to the Golden Temple, I'm hooked!
by Leanne B. on It's been a few weeks since we ate here and I've spent that time mulling over how I truly felt about the experience. In the end, I'm going with 3 1/2 stars but hoping that our next visit will bring it up to a 4 or 5. I guess my expectations were a little too high for Ecco. While the service was truly wonderful and I loved how we didn't feel rushed at any time, I was ultimately a little disappointed with the food. Our meat and cheese tray was nothing special, in fact my impression was that some of the cheeses seemed to be stored next to other cheeses and had taken on different flavors. I get to eat these types of meats and cheeses often where I work, so that may be why it seemd lackluster for me. I did LOVE the fried goat cheese, I think I could eat that as a meal :) My entree was the mushroom risotto and it was way too salty. I didn't realize how salty it was right away but halfway through it was really too much (and believe me, I love salt!) Philip had the parpadelle entree and it was delicious. Our two guests were also a little disappointed with their entrees, but we still had a great time, enjoyed a couple bottles of great wine, and loved the atmosphere and service.
by Gail Recla on went here friday the 13th for a party, had a table which is cool, everything was pretty smooth. but O MY GOD this place is not ideal for people who like to dance/have a brain. if you are like me then you like a dj who mixes actual dance music, as opposed to playing hiphop/top 40. i can listen to the radio for free. i believe this is never cool at a club that charges cover. ALSO: hahaha there was this guy throwing cash. i was alllllll over it. i made almost 20 bucks off of his silly self. teehehe. lots of pretty generic people here. and grinding girls who let guys drop them on their heads. all in all a great night if you dont take yourself seriously and want a change from actual clubbing. all this hating is bad for my karma, cant go too much!!
