by Rocky K. on Friend's 30th birthday dinner. Didnt really like the place the moment we walked in. They weren't the most welcoming. The hostess/bouncer grunted that there was a 5 dollar cover rather than asking if we had reservations. Eww. The owner(?) was nice and made things alright. The busser was way too jumpy though. I like attentive service, but this was a bit too much. Live music though nice and enjoyable (worth 5 bucks?... ehhhh, perhaps), but it overpowered the dinner conversation. We almost had to yell across our relatively small table for 6. But we hadn't planned on a band playing that night, so I guess that was our fault. Parking was good which is ALWAYS a plus. Food above average and prices are ok as well. My favorite was the coffee porkloin. The scallops, though delicious, were dismal in tiny. 12 bucks or so for such a small portion (3 tiny scallops) was a bit ridiculous.
by roxy l. on pod is super overpriced for what you get, though the quality of the food is very good. they've recently done away with their fixed price sharing menus and omitted a lot of their menu items, which is a shame. however, their mushroom fried rice is one of my absolute favorite things i've ever eaten in my entire life and wish i could justify going there just to have it. vegetarian selections are minimal but the staff is very accommodating- we held a work lunch here and they created special tofu-based versions of their menu items and vegetarian sushi for the vegetarians.
by Murray Zacharias on It's almost embarassing to mention that I have been a permanent fixture at this club for (literally) 8 years. Certainly, I agree that the crowd has changed somewhat over the years and it DOES get PACKED on Fridays and Saturdays. But I love the diversity of two clubs in one, great music... oh! And did I mention the HOT bartenders?? Ask for Daphne or Reina at Cosmo. Girls, go over to Lava and ask for Murphy. ;-) Good-looking and great service will get you five stars in my book anyday, lol!
