This restaurant is so pretty. So pretty to look at, the lighting makes your date look prettier than they really are. The staff is so pretty you are certain that you wont get sneezed on food. Along with the pretty - there was something ugly. Not sure what it was, but I got food poisoning after my 2hr drive back to NYC(thank goodness). There are definitely unique items on the menu, however I feel they are now following a recipe book as opposed to sending out master creations. I'd love to update this review to a 5 star experience - i'm thinking getting the omakase is much better.

i loved the little temple...it was a very nice alternative to the other temple bar. it is a bit on the crowded side but the dance floor is great. i had a great experience !!! danced till the lights came on

I would come back anytime for the jazz portion of the night, but not necessarily for the food which is somewhat overpriced and better can be had around town for that price. For dinner, I had lamb chops (which turns out to be sliced...the only time I've ever had lamb chops that were sliced for me) which were tender, so tender that the slices didn't require the fork and knife (which showed up about ten minutes after I had already started devouring the meat).  My friend ordered several of the small dishes which we shared (because I am a greedy glutton that way).  The tuna tartre reminded me of Ozuma's tuna tartre, but too much sesame oil.  Really, one wants to taste the raw tuna, and sesame oil has too strong a taste to pair with the mildness of raw tuna.   I also sampled some of the spicy dragon roll.  Okay, but nothing special. In regards to the show, it was Poncho Sanchez Latin Jazz Band playing...with the cutest trumpet player (and I remembered that I had a massive crush on the trumpet player in my middle school band...Lorenzo, out there somewhere?).  But cute guys aside, these guys can play.  And what's better than soulful-faced brawny men (tough but sensitive) playing the bongos as though it is the best thing in life?  The scene was fantastic: everyone dancing and getting their best and worst moves out.  But what mattered was how much everyone was getting into it.   Oh, and how great was the rendition of Night in Tunisia! The one thing I wish about the jazz portion of the night is that the setting be more intimate.  This Yoshi's seems a bit too commercial, not quite intimate-right for jazz nor samba jazz.  I hear the one in Oakland is more old school
