by Myron Mcdaris on Quite frankly, I was expecting to hate Mighty just a lil' bit...but now I'm kicking myself for living in San Francisco all these years and only just now making it there. I'm not a club person at all (dive bars are more my style), so my giving four stars to one should be seen as the highest of compliments. High points: *$5 vodka sodas. Sure, it's well, but I was expecting to be shelling out at least $7/pop *Good sound and visuals. My ears were ringing something fierce when I left. Note to self: remember your earplugs! *Good, mixed crowd. I made several random friends, and the door guys were nice. *Two music rooms, which is good given that I needed to be entertained while... Low points: *Talib was late. Not Mighty's fault, obviously. But why can't these performers keep to a freakin' schedule!? Incidentally, this is why I don't go to many shows...I'm (mostly) an early to bed girl. *HOT as hell. I know it's SF and all, but any windowless club needs at least a little ventilation. I walked outside completely drenched in sweat, and the SF chill actually felt good. Mighty's not really as far off the beaten path as one might expect. As I stood outside waiting on a friend at 1:40AM, four empty cabs passed within 10 minutes.
by Nikki c. on If you live and play in the Bay, eventually you will....... end up here........ Just sit back and enjoy the ride. There's nothing quite like stumbling out of a cab into a club and then emerging several hours later blinking at the sun wondering how you're going to get home because the person you came with left with someone else. Ladies, be warned, as the night goes on, the bathrooms get more and more.....interesting. You may stumble on the following: stalls without paper, stalls with several bodies inside, stalls with 2 kinds of coke spilled on the toilet, people exchanging body fluids, people releasing body fluids from every possible orifice. You're still going to be an SF club virgin until you go to the Endup at least once!
