It's been awhile since I "clubbed" on a regular basis and most of that time was spent in Prague so I can't really compare it to other NYC dance spots. With that being said, here was my Cielo experience... Friend in from out of town... much drinking... picked up my wife and some of her co-workers at Nero... wanted to do something more than grab a drink... can't afford crazy bottle service prices at other Meat Packing places... end up at Cielo. First, the positives: 1) Absolutely great DJ that night. He had the crowd jumping and I found his mixes to be fun and original. 2) Great sound system... truly 3) They had mouthwash in the bathroom... cute 4) A small outdoor space to smoke or breathe smoke The blah: 1) Ambience was lacking... not a particularly great space, innovative layout or design 2) Not much fun people watching, which I think is requisite when paying a cover charge Overall, good music and dancing but I have to believe there are better places to get my groove on.

a little cramped... but sooooo much fun... had a lil trouble with the cops cause apparently u cant smoke in clubs in NY anymore... dumb. anyways.... BOTTLE service was grrrrrrrr-eat! vitamin water energy drinks were the perfect mixers & have been my favorite ever since! DJ was cool, top 40s and hip hop mostly... I heard rhiannas Umbrella song 10 too many times that weekend... beautiful & fun crowd...

Amazing music (NIcolas Matar rocks), great design, and friendly staff who don't try to bleed every dime out of you for the sake of selling another bottle. This is definitely a club that is all about the music, manages attract a fun, and beautiful crowd, and keeps the party going strong. Definitely a must go when in New York--if you like house music.
