by Stasia Germershausen on The continental is where I take people from out of town. They seem to enjoy the vinyl booths and the shiny lights. I wouldn't say that I particularly enjoy the food but it's good for impressing people into thinking that Philly's idea of cuisine is something besides a cheesesteak wrapped in a slice of Lorenzo's with some lager. As with the other Starr restaurants, the entrees are okay but the salads are where it's at. I can imagine people's dislike for this place because for $7, you get some small, little appetizer of a dish. This is because they aren't buying the salad which is super, super huge. Would I eat here if I didn't have an out-of-towner with me? Not really.
by Kelli B. on This is one of my very favorite places to hang out in NYC. I have seen so many great indie bands here, met some really great people and have had a ton of fun! I'm surprised by all of the negatives comments as I've enjoyed this venue so many times.
by Todd E. on All I have to say is Drunken Monkey...1984 has it's place but I can rarely get my self in the mood (or drunk enough) to deal with all the chodes that show up most of the time.
