This is a bad ass place for people who are not bad ass. Like most reviews have mentioned the inside looks awesome. Like something out of modern tim burton movie. The bartender with the tatoo chest is awesome, i asked for mind eraser but ended up getting a madras.  i made similar mistake bartending at the Lion Pub (name drop) .   she was cool enough to make another drink but booze is booze so why waste it? Beforehand i ask one of the dude bartenders for a vodka tonic he changed me 7.00 then i went to another one later on and he charged me 5...shit happens They have cool dance floor and area for a live band to preform. But the people that are inside that night were just squares.  It felt like i was in a loud church where no one was alive or dead. I dont smoke but the most interesting part of the night was hanging out with the cool kids in the holding cell they have as smoke room. overall people there were too afraid to sweat and smudging their makeup or wrinkle their shirt. a waste of a really beautiful lounge.

You know, when Pod first opened, it was actually good.  I'm not exactly sure what happened.  Maybe I've changed.  Maybe living in CA  made me more of a food snob.  Especially when it comes to sushi. That said, I can't even tell you how disappointed I am at how much this restaurant has gone down hill.  I think this place needs a complete revamp, including the menu.  What used to be cute and trendy back in the day, is just now downright annoying.   The drinks named after colors?  I'm over it.  I don't think the menu has changed one bit since it opened. We sat at the sushi bar, because it was pretty crowded and I didn't figure we would have a chance at getting a table.  The sushi on the belt was very vanilla.  Typical most ordered sushi and it was very bland, and stale.  No pow at all.  My husband and I ordered appetizers as our meals, because we figured we'd grab a few things off the belt.  My "dinner"  of crab spring rolls, took about 45 minutes.  For spring rolls.  When asking our server what the hold up was, she just kind of shrugged and said "that's weird, I mean, it was ordered" and then went on her merry way, as if to subliminally tell me that it wasn't her problem anymore.  I get that it's a hopping place and that we're one of the chosen few who is lucky to grace us with your presence by working here, but get over yourself and fetch my dinner.  I felt like that surreal scene in Garden State where Zach Braff arrives at his job. Bottom line: Pod is a total has been restaurant.   And if you need any more proof of that, just check out the woman next to you, who is probably drinking her colored martini out of a straw.

I am going to have to agree with Drew about the Loca Luna being a popular spot for Birthday parties.  Both of the times that I have been here it has been for a birthday party. I wonder why so many people prefer to celebrate the day of their birth here.  The only two explanations that I come to is the fact that they take reservations and they offer larger tables for the bigger parties that seem to be able to sit nearly 20 people. The hostess at the last party I attended here informed me that it is usually best if you call and make your reservations at least 2 weeks ahead of time, depending on which day of the week you plan on going. The building is fairly large, and there are two different bars where you can get drinks.  I really did not like the outside patio portion of the restaurant because they provide picnic tables for the seating arrangements.  This may have been because they were weary of purchasing expensive patio furniture, because of the possibility of an individual stealing some pieces to use as furniture for their own porch, or in some cases as furniture inside their card board box. The interior of the restaurant is decorated nicely.  It looks great in the afternoon with sun windows on the ceiling providing a majority of the light, and even better at night when they dim the lights leaving a majority of their light source coming from the blue and purple based light fixtures on the sides of the bar and in the ceiling. Loca Luna gets very crowded on the weekend, so make sure that you get there early and find a table or you may be standing a majority of the night.
