by Caesar M. on Oh Blake's how we love your weekday church services by reverand Shawna Brooks and her disciples Lateisha Shante Shuntel, Martina Diamante, Bishop Eddie long and Tyler Perry. This place is pretty much where I repent of all my sins on a weekly basis. Don't expect a confession booth because most of the time you will be confessing all your sins to the bartenders behind the bar and don't blame them if your confessions end up on Facebook or twitter the following morning. Also, do not be surprised if when you get to your significant others place that your stuff is not sitting on the curb outside in the cold. There is a reason this place is well loved by everyone who frequents this place. It is where people come to drink, gossip, network, hookup and most importantly to have a good time. The place has two levels and a patio and on special occasions even a rooftop. The downstairs is usually hosting one of the most well known cabaret shows in the city and upstairs is usually a little more relaxed with chairs and a smaller bar. The Bartenders move at 100 miles per hour and still it is kind of difficult for a regular person to get a drink, but if you are a frequent of this bar don't expect to wait to long they make exceptions for the tenants with the most stamps on their 'frequent blake's card'. The difficulty of getting a drink is do to how busy this place is on a busy night. The drink prices are competitive with other bars and the atmosphere here is what you make of it. It is a mix of people predominantly made up of 21-35 young professionals who for the most part are easy on the eyes there are a few grenades from time to time. If you are a visitor this place is definitely worth checking out no matter what day of the week it is!
by Evie B. on Easily my favorite dive bar in SF. The decor is authentic and the vibe is certainly not pretentious like the marina. I love it here and it used to be the Iowa Hawkeyes gamewatch bar. No more I'm guessing, but our Iowa alum friends didn't mind one bit. Buttery popcorn to wash down ice cold drinks. What's not to like? Oh, and the jukebox will play all the oldies and even some newer goodies. Sweet!
by Ned Olma on Food and drinks here are great. If you're going to party on the weekend at one of the two lounges...BE WARNED. In the upstairs lounge there is a Spanish party on Friday and Saturday nights. Their is no bathroom on the main floor and if you want to use the upstairs bathroom they make you pay a cover charge OR leave your ID at the entrance (no bullsh*t happened to me twice). The downstairs lounge has better music (a mix of everything) but it is always muggy and musty down there. The crowd is usually older and ladies if you aren't in the mood to get groped or hit on by a man in his mid-30's wearing a polyester shirt slacks...I suggest you stay away. Aside from that, margaritas are AMAZING and so are the enchiladas. Great spot for after work drinks (main level only).
