Rock Box ROCKS! We rung in the New Year here with some other fine folks including some apparently 'hot mess' Rateclubers (Corinna was fantastic fun, she's a liar) and we had a total BLAST! We were a lively and intoxicated group of 15+ so we had reserved the party room and we did the PARTY moniker justice fer sure. We drank- my favorite was the Salaryman, a gin/melon/mint concoction that seemed to improve my karaoke skills with each sip- and sang our hearts out until after the cows were long in bed. So- what you want to know about is: The Book- HOLY BE-JEEEZUS, it has EVERYTHING. Seriously. And so nicely laid out, one 'By Artist' one 'By Song' and easy to read, two controls, a key pad and an iPad for easy on/off. Even karaoke nubes with a few drinks under their belt had no issue using the controls. The room was PLUSH! The decor is stunning from the entry, the small bar area in the front, the hallways, bathrooms and rooms, seriously, all top-notch. It seems most rooms have a large sectional in them that seem like cozy for 10 or comfy for 6-8, although some seemed a bit larger than others. There is also a 2 person room and of course, the party room. Again, SO AMAZING. The drinks: this is not a BYOB like the other rental places, au contraire mon frere, the heavenly waitress brings you amazing libations for reasonable (ranged from 7-10 for specialty cocktails) prices, snackeroo's for munching (in the mostly savory super small arena, don't plan to eat dinner), and as a NYE attendee, we were treated to a champagne toast at midnight. The equipment was top notch, the mics handled our extreme running around the room, singing into people's faces, the floors withstood our karate kicks and 10+person RHPS sing/dance along, and only one of over 40 songs had an issue with playing AND there were tons of fantastic cheesy videos for classic songs. The cost- I have to say that after easily dropping a couple hundred for my birthday at SBK last year for a smaller and dingier room, this seems super reasonable - especially considering the HUGE difference in song choice, equipment, atmosphere and hassle to BYOB. The service is also seriously 'golden', the waitress was there at any hint of a drink emptying and we wanted for nothing all night. Do note there's a service charge on top of the rate for the party room so include that when you split the cost up, but still, sooo reasonable. Wanna join me next time?

This place is sick. It's not the coolest looking place in the world, but once the lights are lowered and the spots and strobes come on, let the main floor get sticky with hot dancing bodies. The seating, very minimal, you need to get service here if you want to relax. But there is always a view and some of the best DJ's in the nation play here. It's a hot spot. Make sure you talk to some promoters or you'll be waiting in line with all of the others. This is a true Hollywood Club. Hey, maybe you'll see a celeb up top dancing.

Good fun. I like the fact that there are two separate rooms here, and theres the stage area in the larger room towards the back. The dance floor is nice and big so it doesn't feel very cramped, and the bar is nicely placed on both sides of the dance floor never making it hard to grab a drink.
