I went there last night with a friend. We wanted to see the live brazilian band. THe food was really good, a little pricey, and they had delicious exotic cocktails and margaritas. The service was great. We were luckily enough to get one of the 4 tables in the middle of the place, which gave an upfront view of the live music and dance floor. During band intermission, the club played 'typical' house/club/reggae-ton music, which I didn't really care for. By 11pm, everyone was dancing, and having a good time.

With the closing of South Street bridge, I haven't been to Grace's as much as I'd like (or as often as I use to) but every time I do make it there, I truly enjoy myself. This isn't a bar where you need to look a certain way or act a certain way. - it's an old-style neighborhood bar with a single TV (not flat panel), some colorful bartenders (Reese is great!), great beer, and AMAZING food. The bar is dark and has a variety of bar-seating, dining tables and standing room. Although the bartenders can make just about any drink under the sun, I wouldn't recommend coming here for the latest "it" drink you read about in cosmo - this just ain't that kinda place. Try the Kelly burger with fries - I might like this even better than the burgers at Good Dog! I honestly prefer going here on weeknights as it just gets too crowded on the weekend - especially since it's become so popular! Damn, now after writing this all I want is a burger and a beer at Grace Tavern!

Sure, everyone mentions that DNA has got a great sound system, but no one mentions that they use measured pours when serving booze. Events here are mediocre at best. San Francisco lacks a serious club scene. Boo hoo.
