by Domenic Martowski on I have been to Ecco many times. I have always wanted to write about this place. It's close to where I live and work so I often take my business guests there. That's pretty much the only reason of my many returns. Otherwise, given how competitive the restaurant business is in Atlanta (and in the South), this place is just good but not definitely not great. The food is standard - but lacks a signature dish, i.e. something that will make you remember about this place. The quality of the cooking here is also inconsistent. Some nights it's great, and some nights it appears that the chef can't even cook a piece of meat to order properly. Quality control should be something the restaurant manager need to focus on. I wine list is great and is reasonbly priced. That's a plus. The menu tend to change quite often but revolves around the same ingredients. Nothing to be jumping up and down at. The service here is sub par. I have been here so many times, and I'd say my odd of having a good service night to a subpar service night is 1 to 3. That doesn't say very much about a restaurant that tries to strive in the midtown district. My last visit was a couple of days ago. The waiter had to be reminded repeatedly to pour us water. Common, we opened a bottle wine and ordered plenty of spirits- don't be stingy on us with just tap water. When the glasses are empty, you fill them. That's your job. Overall, Ecco is lucky that it situates so close to my workplace and my home. I can walk home after a meal with copious amount of alcohol. However, this place isn't as good as the many great restaurants are in the South. I will probably return to Ecco again within a few weeks. All because of its convenient location and neither because of its food nor the service.
by Jennie H. on ***If you want a burger that doesn't involve slaughtering animals, then this IS NOT the place for you*** If you want food that could potentially clog your arteries, increase your cholesterol level, cause weight gain, then you made it to Bobby's Burger Palace. My BFF and I came here last Thursday during the lunch hour. It was pretty packed, but we managed to find seating when we placed our order. We ordered the Dallas Burger (spice crusted, coleslaw, Monterey Jack, BBQ sauce, and pickles), L.A. Burger (Avocado relish, watercress, cheddar cheese, and tomato), and ALL three sides: French Fries, Sweet Potato Fries, and Beer Battered Onion Rings. Yes, we are greedy. Along with our food, we had drinks (iced tea and soda) that came up to approximately $30. The burgers were delicious! I preferred my L.A. Burger over the Dallas Burger (Shhh... don't tell her... I don't think she'll read my review, anyways.) Both fries were equally good, but one bite out of those onion rings will instantly give you high blood pressure. I kid you not. We did enjoy the food until my friend found a little, lifeless critter floating in her iced tea. I guess burgers aren't the only items on the menu that can be "crunchified." We immediately told the server and she brought out another iced tea and apologized. Although that occurred, I think I'll still come back to try something else. I have my eye on that Topless Burger Salad... maybe because it sounds naughty.
